most of us drive in long chase mode so we can see around us a little...
i (and many others who play this game) race real cars....considering the lack of mirrors the chase view actually is relatively close to the "field of vision" you would expect all cranked in tight on your racing harness with a helmet obsuruing your peripheral vision...
on the other hand when i'm in "speed" mode hunting for every dip and rise in the rracing surface i prefer to go into bumper cam.....pretty exciting stuff and you can detect many features you might miss from the other views
as a side note about "driving blind" in traffic...many a "dirty deeds" have been blamed on cockpit view....don't expect much sympathy from the pack on that one...just like real life the onus is on YOU to control your car...and even on the dirtiest of dirty tracks one can expect some pretty "top notch" vengance to get laid out if you clobber the wrong guy !
personally i refuse to use the "re-set" feature to make my game more true to life...the actual view i use is a compromise...because HONESTLY....even after all the hours i've spent playing this game a life-time of habits doesn't change easily....i STILL look up to non-existant mirrors, turn my head to look out non-existant side windows and quite often instictively "flip the bird" to you guys out my non-existant rear window...hehehhhehehe
