Fatal Error [SOLVED]

Every time I try and run the game the splash screen launches, and then it goes to a black screen with just the cursor on the screen. I have to CTRL/Shift/Esc to get out. The window says 'Fatal Error'.

I've tried disabling mods, uninstalling/reinstalling, uninstalling/reinstalling to another drive, run as adminstrator, run in compatibility mode, running 32 bit, and NOTHING WORKS.

What the hell is wrong with the game and how can I make it work again?

have you verified files yet, that has solved the fatal error for me.

Try deleting the modlist.mods file located in the app data folder, but backup your user data folder first

After u have copied and renamed your app data folder somewhere else and saved it go

Steam>userdata>228380>local>Wreckfest early access and delete the modlist.mods file that should fix it :)

I would have to say the Facial burns has more experience than I. I would try his suggestion.

I'm in app data but I can't see anything related to Wreckfest? Can you tell me what the file is called?

Hmmm, still saying fatal disk? Thats what has solved it before, or exiting steam and restarting

It type <disable_mods> in the launch parameters

I just restarted Steam and it seems to be working, thank goodness! Now I can get back to making videos.

I’m getting a fatal error too, steam being a pain in the butt won’t give me a refund again because I decided to give the game a second chance
