Wreckfest or BeamNG.drive?
Which one is more fun overall? Have you played both? I want something with a decent AI, being able to play for longer times (more content) and to not get bored in a singleplayer. Sometimes I like to just drive & crash mindlessly (love the slow-mo feature in the Beam game). I'm not interesting in tweaking settings constantly and I'm a KB+M player, although I do have a simple controller. I can't decide which one is the right fit for me, as both looks cool in their own way. Plus, which one is easier on the PC, probably Wreckfest, right? :rlbreakout:

Creating anything resembling a race in Beamng is a tedious, complicated process where you need to spawn stuff and there are like hundreds of things you can adjust, it's just overwhelming, you probably need to watch tutorial before you get it to work. Also Beamng does NOT play well with a keyboard at all, it really wants a wheel and pedals.

Wreckfest for sure though they are of course very different games in their intended goals. The AI in this game races you as you would expect. Forcing you off track. But that is easy to avoid once you learn how to deal with them. Of course there is a LOT of mod content for this game though obviously pay attention to the upload/last update date and the comments to see what's still compatible. BTW you'll have no issue using a keyboard. My tip would be to use the 32bit launch option just to play it safe. Even more fps and no technical issues ever.

Wreckfest does have singleplayer and AI, but it's built for multiplayer. That's where all the fun of this game is. Doesn't mean you won't enjoy singleplayer, with mods it can be pretty cool, but it gets boring pretty fast. AI isn't very bright and gets extremely predictable as you play.

BeamNG is not a racing, it's just a car sandbox with soft body and funky physics. AI is extremely stupid in that game, AFAIK, but it's not really a downside, since game is not as streamlined as WF or most other racing arcades.

It's really hard to compare two of those. Same thing as what is better ETS or WF...

I put lots of time into beamng but it’s still poor performance on my rig, it’s like 1 car per core on your CPU literally, it’s fun for driving a car off a cliff but even to spawn traffic you need a super cpu. 1 car 90fps 2 cars 40 fps 3 cars 15 FPS .... lol
Wreckfest is definitely the better game but for free roam with ultra realistic damage it’s beamng, but check requirements as it’s bad for performance on avarage pcs

Well, in my opinion, with BeamNG you get way more for your money in a long term because it has amazing physics with very detailed cars and simulation of various systems within the car. It is different from Wreckfest in sense that it is more of a car enthusiast sandbox, and no, it is not a crash simulator, it has very advanced physics and doing time trials is just soo good, also you can do so much more, like make your own car builds and use them everywhere, there is also nice modding community creating open world maps and also the game is constantly developing and not only new content, but the whole game evolves, for example they added AI traffic which was very significant upgrade. Also I wouldn't say that you need a wheel to play it, for me it is one of these games with nice physics that are made for gamepad like Wreckfest, Cross Racing Championship, GTA4, Carmageddon Max Damage, it is not precise enough to be used as a real sim, at least for me.

Ok now Wreckfest is really nice game, I got bored of single player pretty quick, but the online racing is what saves it, bet that also got boring after some time. Well what I would love is wreckfest with handling and damage similar to beamng, that would be a perfectgame for me, but I understand that Wreckfest must be more casual for people to be able to pick it up easily.

Anyway both are really fun :TwoFinger:

BeamNG can also be played with other people online, so big plus there too.
