the checkpoint themselves are the issue
when the speed limiter is OFF you will notice that the "corrupted" lap doesn't count
from my piont of view simply placing a rock (or some other visible marker) on the check-point would solve the problem
with a solid object on it it would be harder to get pushed over, and easier to recover by fair means
tbh. i frequently avoid tracks that have these invisible traps.
Some tracks can be cut big time, get red circle and then get back on the track and red circle goes away as long you don't cheat checkpoint.
But Bugbear has tighten up some checkpoints this year. Harder to cheat the tracks now.
Anyways I'm glad to hear that they are making it harder to cheat the checkpoints and are improving the tracks:)
If you are getting the limiter from going miles of track, cutting corners or going on the outside of rocks/barriers. Then it is working as intended,to stop people cutting bits of the circuit in order to get faster leaderboard times.
How would this work though? As you don't want cars facing the wrong way to be ghosts otherwise any spin in the racing line, youd drive through them. The other solution would be turn any car that isnt on the lead lap with you to a ghost. But again you dont want that,as back markers help create action on track.
Better to have a optional punishment for those trying to cut/drive the wrong way imo like now. Rather than removing action from the track.
If red circle is trigger by cheating a checkpoint, checkpoint was at the point the red circle popup. Most checkpoints are at the turns.
Now that the red circle bug at Dirt Fig8 track has now been fix. Should be no more false red circles popping up I hope on the tracks.
Reset should add a delay option 1-5 seconds for example set by host or sinngle player options. No more cheap resets. In the mean time you are ghosted intil reset timer ends.
Also think that the finish line needs to have some visibillty options, line color, glow, flag etc. Its barely noticeable on most tracks until you cross it.
The game can benefit from minimap/wyapoint/compass/distance(measurement) HUD options.
Checkpoints should be visible on minimap as well an optional checkpoint counter.
