theres really no excuse for the performance in this game, they are trying to get this on consoles but my vega card cant even do high settings 720p and all the consoles got amd, lots of work 2 be done and dont even get me started on that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ui with broken buttons and missing features or the missing parts, or vinpertol paint skins which need 2 be in the vanilla game, we want 2 dnf good looking cars bugbear do u hear me!!
for some reason I am getting 20ish fps now instead of 60-70-90
I really dont like the GUI change after THQ has taken over aswll
These days everyone just wants to race like an AI. Used to be crazy and fun.
ive been taken out by more ai cars then real racers
i just love to play the 2015 version, the ai cars try to ram everyone on sight in every race hence the name (banger race) in the new 2017 version or late 2015 verions they made the AI cars just drive the normal race line which is boring to me, the AI just drives the same line and they never try to slam anyone so no crashes ever happen in races
Won’t say more for now.
I hope we get to keep a legacy launcher in the Steam library with the old build, why taking away from us stuff that didn't need to be "fixed"?
+1
And devs never understood that's kinda raw behavior from AI was exactly what we wanted, they were thinking the AI was to rude and needed to be nerfed. I had so much fun playing solo mode for this, i had the feeling to play against real player.
I will add the color saturation from 2017 Version is too prononced against old version.
I mean i had so much fun around october- december 2014, the game was awesome, just needed few more track and cars , some polishing and that's it. There was a huge hype on this game this time, i made many friends to buy this game. They don't play anymore.
Even if the game is way better now since the big horrible build on june 2015, the hype is gone.
I hope some famous Youtuber like Jacksepticeye will make some video when the game will be officialy release otherswise it won't change anything.
I still love the game for its awesome physics but it deserve better comunication from devs because they totaly sucks on this point.
the success of a game also depends on how people perceive the people who created it.
well said, agreed on all points
I’ll post the last thing Janne sent me.
““No worries, we have some pretty good ideas already. Naturally the career mode will be useful in teaching the player how to drive the slower cars and then gradually upping the ante. Furthermore, we've improved the handling model especially in regards to the higher spec cars so they aren't as punishing as before. Also controller has been improved, seeing as the higher spec cars are difficult to control with a gamepad in particular. All in all, things will work fine :)”
From what I can tell its all planned out and they have figured out how to bring the fun back in a big way.
I suspect they are currently 🐛 bug fixing, optimising and getting console certification figured out.
Everyone hassle THQ Nordic (publishers/ marketing guys) to start sending us some more info this month :)
Driving A class cars was unrealistically hard, but I hope the driving model at its core won't be drastically more arcadey in general. There are driving assists for that.
But, well, what will happend most likely is that they will now make it easier to please people who refuses to use assist, and we're left with everyone always focusing on driving that one car/setup combo that yields best performance.
And this is coming from a guy who is not driving the A class well (I mean I drive it, but having hard time controlling it)!
With June Build you just about force to use stability assist to tame the A class cars. Now you got to ask, did you win the race with your skill or because you used an assist to keep car under control?
I went through this with GRID 1 online. Spent the first 3-4 months racing with no assists, then finally gave in and went with all assists to be competitive online ( gave cars really good grip! ), racing for 3rd, with a win once in awhile.
A more fairer way is to give us some better griping tires. Then if you want a bigger challenge, stick with standard tires.
Take flatout 4 as a example. Its got nitro,power-ups,forgiving handling, mass less destructible objects littering the circuit, large variety of vehicles that all perform similarly, damage that doesn't leave your car squashed into a ball, unrealistic fantasy environments that aren't real tracks, jumps, explosions etc. These are all things people request on this forum at times, yet no one plays flatout4. Even at release it bombed.
