//Zyddie
We clean up the leaderboards rather often and there is a lot of legit players getting up to gold without any major problems so I strongly disagree with that one.
//Zyddie
Still important ofcourse, but waiting for it to be done right instead of a quick fix, seems fair enough.
I agree with Zyddie, it is still worth competing in events but we need some sort of verification that the times are legit. People ♥♥♥♥♥ about DRM systems but if they stave off cheating I am all for them. I do not care if people cheat in single player races but definitely not multiplayer. I do not understand the need to cheat at all. I have played this game for 5 years and I am constantly learning new ways to improve my times. So many people are not interested in earning their position.
On the first shot I can tell that only the guy at the top is cheating (ThatInsaneHobo). I think Mad Scientist's 1:57.1 is legit, but he still might be cheating, who knows. Same for all other gold players, really i.e some of the mediocre gold times might be also from cheaters who want to get gold without working for it. For example on the second shot ThatInsaneHobo's result looks legit (score wise), but he'sprobably cheating there too.
With my first try i did 2:13, shortly after that did 2:01.79 (kinda lucky) and after that tried countless times, working with settings, practicing and finally dropped to 2:00.93. And I know for a fact I can drop another second or so but that would require too much work (and luck) on my end and I might just leave it at that.
Overall this is one of the easiest weekly challenges. Yes, there are not exploits like in the previous weekly, but its not a technical track at all. Its very easy. If you are halfway decent you can easily go 2:03 which will be enough for gold.
But running a 1:23.xxx is just laughably obvious.
cleaning up after the fact does not solve the initial problem of the event being flawed
and the obvious sub 90 second time is still on the leader board, so not cleaned up
creating an event that allows cheaters punish legit players is the issue
if the event had a set time for bronze, silver, and gold, the cheaters would still cheat, but it would have no effect on legit players, and that is why I say it is not worth doing these events
(I may still try though)
Someone will have to spend time manually removing the obviously cheated results.
Have fun.
All racing games that aren't sims have cheaters, it is just the way things are. You can't expect morality from the self-entitled weenies that cheat in games.
