Class Max explanation

I'm looking for an explanation for a race that requires "Max B". How is this different from B, what kind of vehicle am I looking for etc.

I think Max B means you can use any class vehicle up to B class. Hence you can use D, C or B class.

B class specifically means you can only use B class vehicles, not D, C or A

That would mean the requirements seem less strict than just "B". In my case I see "Max C" and sometimes it is not clear what the restrictions are and I cant play those scenarios.
