Is this a Simulator or an Arcade game?
I was hoping to enjoy the simulated experience of a destruction derby style racing game. Seems like a lot of you see this as an arcade game and that's not for me.

So can you guys helo elaborate on what this is because Steam describe it as a Sim but nobody cares about things like Headtracking.

I can still return so it's not an issue either way.

Strange how few people are requesting multiple USB and headtracking then? For simmers, we need to be in the drivers seat tbh.
Thanks for you input :-)

Yep. And with assists it can be more arcade than sim, for the "pick up and play" experience.
The game is trying to gather to a wider audience, but there's the risk for it to suffer from an identity crisis.

the videos section on the community here should be helpful.

I completely understand how early adopters just want this bloody thing over the finish line. I've been waiting years too, but only just bought in.

The way things sound I might just have to bow out tbh, until maybe 2018 when they either end development and I walk away or they can make a definitive plan for their identity.

At the minute its a authentic/semi realistic arcade game. A bit like grid. Looks and feels pretty realistic, but you can still drive with a keyboard due to driving aids and physics setup.

Behind the scenes it has the possibility to be a sim with in depth physics calculations but doesnt have all the bells and whistles for different inputs at the minute.

It's more of a simcade, previously I didn't like how cars handled, but now it handles in a good way, i'd say it's the good spot between sim and arcade, playing assists off with a controller, feels great overall.

Build #7 was to simy and we ask Bugbear to tone it back a bit. Fine that sweet spot between sim and arcade. Bugbear getting close. :) Wreckfest shooting to be a simcade if you turn all the assists off.

I use a wheel and no assists, but prefer to use far chase cam so I can see all that great action going on around the car online. :)

Seems like the general desire is more towards arcade than Sim.

That is a shame for the likes of me, but you guys were here first so I guess it should be what you want more than what I want and TBH I'm fine with that.

I like to see the action too, I just like to watch the replay after the event and be invloved in it during the event.

Good news then, it seems like Bugbear might be listening to you guys at last and sticking to the arcade style approach (less work for them too tbh) :-D

Can you hold out another week before taking the refund?
Huge update coming next week with more customisation options and proper wheel force feedback among other things. Plenty of other things.

Realistically when we were telling Bugbear that the cars were too sim-like, they were literally uncontrollable slidey old bangers. Way past their useful racing days. A car like that in good condition would be way faster around the corners. So a few of the sim fans at least asked for that to be fixed. One of my mates who is a sim fan is really excited since the last major change to the handling. What we have now regarding handling will be similar to final product. Probably just with more events that cater to arcade fans.

Im with you on the simulation front. I want realistic banger racing, e.g rfactor with wreckfest damage,no driving aids (bangers dont have them) etc etc but it doesn't really matter too much. As said in the earlier post, you can turn the game into a sim with mod support.

Its what ive been attempting to do with the bangers mod, slowly rebuilding all physics using Autodata specs, but of course i have to change every file to be correct.

Yeah surething, I think I have 2 weeks and 2hours of gameplay before the return option is revoked. Thanks for the heads up.
