It's NOT Flat Out, It will never be Flat Out, If it was... it would be called Flat Out. With that being said, I'm a long time fan of FO. We still play on line using a program called "Game Ranger" (props to Purple for turning me on to it) It allows hosting and player mediation (connecting to each other)
Wreckfest is awesome all by it's self. We have players in the community over 10,000 hours! Really! Try an keep an open mind, it really gets better the more you play. Online with others is best! For insane wrecking, try Poop's SS server. For Beginners and folks wanting a gentler experience, try Sue & RC's Server. And of course, there are so many in-between.
As an ex-Flatout player I do know what you mean. I had a lot of fun in the Flatout campaign, but haven't had fun in the Wreckfest campaign. It doesn't have the Flatout feel. It feels more like a serious racing game.
For me, Wreckfest has brought me the best multiplayer racing experience I've ever had. It surpasses Flatout in that area by far. Also, the physics, graphics and destructibility improve upon Flatout.
If you haven't already, get into the multiplayer side of it. This is where it shines bright!
I totally agree with this. I thought the career was a bit of a drag, but the online multiplayer sure is something.
@OP > If you don't want to bother with solo : download the Free Market mod, unlock everything so you can be competitive, and wreck real folks online in the dirtiest servers. There's nothing quite like cornerbombing a cornerbomber.
Or you can race seriously against great players on (semi-)clean servers, it's up to you. There's a great variety of gameplay online, which is why I love this game. Sometimes I wreck, sometimes I race, sometimes I do both.

I agree, this is a fantastic racing game. To be honest, I've never really played racing games online before, but Wreckfest really excels in this respect! I'm kinda a fan of working my way up, so I'm going to play the career "legit" and then race with all my earned stuff :)
I'm so happy to hear stunts are coming back!
Is "Stuntfest" the free "Wreckfest Throw-A-Santa + Sneak Peek 2.0" game that I have in my Steam library?
Nope it cost $10 for the early version back in 2016:

But If you was a Master Blaster or Team Bugbear member, you got sent a free Stuntfest key. :)
You still can! Download "Game Ranger" Flatout 2 is hosted regularly. Easy to host one your self too!
