Missign of invalid header in file save/assists.aids, FATAL ERROR

My PC crashed mid-game, now whenever I start the game up I get a Fatal error saying: 'Missign of invalid header in file save/assists.aids' . Can't seem to find it in my directory or in the userdata file. Anyone else had this? Probably going to re-install but thought this error should be known.

Seems to be a recent thing, Ive got it to. Freaking sucks. and doing that in your files seems complicated.

It should be in your normal documents folder, and then MyGames/wreckfest/steamid/ and in here there should be a few folders with backup and then numbers which is the date they occured. Delete the assists.aids that is NOT in a backup folder and replace it with one that is inside of the backup folder :) Feel free to point out anything you don't understand :D

Thank You Purple!!!! This worked for me. I was replacing the config.saves file before, and that didn't work. Using your assists.aids file did the trick, many thanks. Hopefully Bugbear actually know WHY this is happening when they get around to sorting it out.

This still needs attention.I had to fiddle around with this BS after moving to a new ssd.Even though I fully reinstalled and verified files,still no joy until I replaced files.

Yes you just open the link and it will start it automatically

That sound like you picked the "open with" option when you clicked my link:

Need to pick the "save file" option. This will download my assists.aids file to your Hard drive. Pay attention to where file is downloaded to, so you can find the assists.aids to copy over to your Wreckfest save folder:

C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\Documents\My Games\wreckfest\7656119833977****

I can't, I use Firefox to surf the internet.

I would try using a different browser, since microsoft edge does not seem to handle downloading files. Unless something need be enable with microsoft edge?
