My avast antivirus found an virus on the new update.

I was downloading the nevest update, untill avast reported this

Hi, i just did the update, got avast, and launched the game and got no problem.
I think its a false positive (a file seen as dangerous when its not) so you can authorise the file.

Oh i just think about it but i may had no problems because in avast i set my games directory in exclusions.

Same... happens all the time.... just disable Avast for a few minutes and verify files after the update finishes downloading

Avast is the absolute worst when it comes to protection (by being over protective). My part time job is IT support at university, and 90% of the time when internet traffic fails, school programs being blocked and other shenanigans it is the blasted thing. My two cents; if you have windows 10 you are better off with the windows defender, and if other OS - try sometime else than avast.

That's what I've done as well, found avast pretty decent back in the days, but now it's really not worth it in my book.
