What a great and novel idea !

Let's all run out and get all of the parts to build a new PC to play this one unoptimised game !

There a lot of players with performance issues regarding this game. If it runs so "fine" for you, good for you. Lucky you.
( I still haven't seen anyone that says this game runs so fine or great for them post any proof of the always above 60 FPS that they claim they get, by the way.)

A lot of players are settling for lower resolution, less graphics "eye candy" , etc and posting how this game is running so fine for them.
That won't get this game optimised .
The Devs need their feet held to the fire regarding this games lackluster performance.
They need to understand that a lot of players are having major performance issues.

They don't need to be jerked off by fanboys anymore.
This game is in Beta now. It's almost showtime.
It's time to get what we have waited YEARS for.
If this game stays as it is, I won't waste a moment playing it again.
EVER.
Then I'll write a review. A really nice review.
:D

Currently running on ultra, minus Shadows are set to low because Shadow is FPS killer in this game, and I can't see the difference between ultra & low shadows, unless I look at screenshot of the same scene 1:1 side by side.

So my fps hovers around ~90-110s, and this is with i7 6700, gtx 980ti 2-way SLI and 32GB RAM.

This isn't the best optimization in racing games, and sometimes there are places on maps where the FPS is going to get unstable but the game is still Early-Access, and I hope devs would bring optimization sooner or later, hoping to get the sweet 144 FPS.

Big thanks to Bugbear for SLI support right out of the box.

I have alternating fps depending on track, that is what bothers me, really.
If I have 50fps on one and 2-4 fps on another track, it can't be my system I think. And it got worse with the last two updates (more tracks are low fps now).

this game is so unoptimised.. i don't have super badass pc but it runs all games very high-ultra setting with no problems 60+fps easy.. this crap on low goes like 15 if there is other cars... i have r9 390x fx3850 8gb ram it soulf be pleny to run this crap. bought a game that ran so smooth at early access and now its complete garbage

Theres still more optimization to come im sure. The main problem at the minute is AMD optimization. Game is pretty stable on intel+nvidia hardware.

All the complaints about game running poorly always comes back to people using AMD.

I have a better PC than you and i can't hold 60fps at 1440p max graphics
(I5-6600K, 16GB DDR4 Ram, GTX980ti)
You must have some secret sauce in your PC lol.

The most demanding tracks that we currently have - like Tarmac 2 - will definitely need further optimization in order to maintain a stable framerate (no, it doesn't mean that all the other tracks will become as demanding).

For sure, you should be running it easy imo. Maybe other than on tarmac 2 track. Could be application conflict causing problems? I had a 960 4gb before upgrading, that ran with no issues also.

Set shadows to low because it is very hard on the performance.

Are there any more optimization plans other than track optimization, such as rendering, making the shadow not to be that much of performance killer, engine, etc. ?

Seeing as the game will be launched on consoles as well, the answer would be absolutely yes. Some work is already underway.

That's great.

I also hope this doesn't mean graphical downgrade overall to the game to achieve console level optimization, but seeing the game is available on PC before console I doubt it, since it won't be a console port after all.

Your parts are sufficient.
Did you see the conversation where someone disabled two FX-8350 cores in their BIOS and the game ran better?

My suspicion is that currently CPU cooling is your limiting factor. Would also try turning on dynamic vsync in your radeon/catalyst/crimson settings. Or play with frame rate target control if you prefer.
If the R9 390X is only targeting 60FPS then that should mean less heat in the case.

As an intel/ n vidia user also, I must admit I have to run a less than ideal setup for gfx options.

I have an i5, and asus 1060 (3 gb mem).

I find grass, and shadow to be the killers. I totally disable shadows, and have grass at half, and get a resonable frame rate. (on most tracks, tarmac 2 kills me whatever settings)

Turning v-sync off helped also, as if the game fell below 60 fps, then it would just drop to 30, there have been previous discussions about the "double buffering" that used to be in place, I can't say if it's still the same as I don't use v-sync now.

You my friend, get the golden cookie award, the game hasn't been optimised yet for any PC combination.

Lets see what they manage upon release, hopefully we will be pleasantly surprised ;)

If not then I will join your'e team and toast the devs feet daily ;)
