Digitally produced sounds rarely lead to good end result, has to be recordings of real cars. This is what for example Automobilista has done vs. some bad car audios in Assetto Corsa which are (in some occasions) obviously digitally generated
Wwise for creating engine sounds... Looks so complicated even after reading tutorials. Would love to get an LS3 sound in-game!!

Oh well, not all games can have audio as good as Dirt Rally (and not saying these cars should sound like rally cars, but they are so detail-less and boring sounding)
Collisions are absolute opposite, probably best collision audio I've heard in any game. Also the extra side noised from damaged cars are good. The engine sounds (overall) aren't
Raceroom racing experience is the daddy of all engine sounds, the sound team actually travel to track days and record the real thing, I recommend checking it out if you not aware, it's unbelievable at first.
