However, generically speaking, when you are tinkering with car tuning, the game shows you what effect this will have on your speed, accelaration, handling and overall strength.
I assume the 'strength' of your vehicle is the amount of damage it has to sustain before it breaks, and heavier armors increases this ability to soak more damage.
as I said, whether a front bumper only soaks front damage, or increases your cars total strength, I cannot say ... I suspect it increases overall strength.
