Controller not working

Using Dual Shock 4 plugged in with an USB cable and emulating Xbox controller using the DS4Windows tool

It worked flawlessly a couple of months ago but I just reinstalled the game to play it some more and the game just refuses to recognize any controllers, emulated or not.

My Xbox controller works fine. I have found for some games that you need to turn on the controller BEFORE you start up the game, and this game is one of them.

So, someone who's looking to get this game and use a controller...it supports the Xbox controller? I see it says Partial Controller on the store page. Never understood what that meant lol. Until I get better at mouse/keyboard, controller support is a must for me. TIA

Xbox 360 and Xbox One controllers are supported straight out of the box.

Dont use a Tool, the Xbox Controller works without this

Booting up Big Picture mode on Steam and then going to settings > Controller Settings and making sure the PS4 Configuration Support is toggled on, then launching the game from Big Picutre mode will allow you to use a DS4 controller without the need of a 3rd party program.

this isnt working properly i have an XBOC controller and a PS4 controller game holds the brake when driving only and i cant race this is an issue i need fixed asap... even have ps4 toggled to on for controller settings and nothing and even with my xbox one controller same thing..

Wreckfest don't like seeing 2 controllers\pads at the same time. Need to use one or the other plugged in.

Damn, how does this thread keep getting bumped, lol.

Look, enough time had passed since I made this thread and I was able to save up some money for the wireless Xbox controller and it works just fine now. I'd heartily recommend doing the same.

However, if you're stuck with some bootleg controller or a PS4 gamepad, just download DS4Windows, make sure that the "Hide controller" option is ticked in emulator and it will work just fine. Some games need to have this option enabled, otherwise the game will go haywire trying to recognize both the PS4 and Xbox controllers at the same time due to the emulation. If you tick that setting, the system won't be able to recognize that it's a PS4 controller and will see it as an Xbox controller exclusively, and it will work just fine.

In the Controller settings of Wreckfest change it from standard to steam input. Worked for me atleast.
