Bandit Ripper V8 owners can play online with folks who don't own the Season Pass nor the Deluxe Edition of the game, so you'll most certainly be able to drive DLC cars online with people who don't own them. Splitting the player-base wouldn't make any sense from a devs' perspective.

That would be my guess too. And since we cant sell cars, that'll be a fine way to clutter our garages even more..
How do you acquire dlc cars/upgrades? Do they just appear without requiring unlocking/in-game purchase? And if so, could that spoil enjoyment of working your way through the career? Maybe they can be hidden/disabled until completing career? Perhaps they are instantly available just for multiplayer?
Also would appreciate any comments around if/how career progression is linked with multiplayer & the cars/parts you can use. And if it's possible to configure online races with handicaps or eg. slower/weaker cars for better drivers.
Thanks!
Carrer wise, no idea honestly since i only play multiplayer, but it shouldnt hinder you in any way since youre able to use every single car for each of the 3 ingame classifications ranging from C to A class, with A beeing the fastest. you can literally downgrade A class vehicles to compete in C class for example. i dont think any car will spoil any progress or carrer experience, since no car has any huge advantage or disadvantage
So can different classes of vehicles race together in the same race (assuming the host allows it in the options)? That might allow us to give the stronger drivers a lower class of car to help keep things closer & more fun. Or if not, perhaps we can use different parts/upgrades to handicap cars within the same class, by lowering their rating as much as possible? EDIT: although I imagine this may not be as much of a factor as in some other racing games, due to the chaotic/violent nature of proceedings! :)
Appreciate you don't play single player, so no worries on that, hopefully someone else can comment.... I suppose I could always just avoid using eg. any class A or B cars from the season pass in the career mode, at least until I've upgraded/unlocked some of my own to that level. Or maybe it doesn't work like that at all?
Cheers!
As long as the car is "legal" for that championship series then you can use literally any vehicle you have.
As for you other question. Yes you earn credits and XP online just as you do in career and custom events.
I take it XP & cash are shared between online & offline. In which case we shouldn't worry what car we use (season pass or otherwise), since we can upgrade them with earnings from career and/or online anyway, or even downgrade them to make things harder for ourselves.
I was only considering handicapping in friend matches anyway, so not worried about options to enforce anything (I think I read somewhere it's now possible to create private matches, or maybe our own server if needed).
Am still not quite decided whether to grab the season pass now or later, but it sounds like it just adds more options, rather than spoiling anything progression-wise... other than maybe not needing to spend in-game currency to unlock the DLC cars, like you would with any other cars in the base game? But if credits are easily earned online or offline anyway, then it probably doesn't matter too much.
Cheers!
On the PC, you can host up to 24 players if your computer and internet service got the bandwidth to handle it. Might have to restrict it to 16 players for a player host. But there many 24 player servers online to join. :)

Set Active Servers to all to see all servers that got at least 1 player/
Gonna have a play around with the career first though.
Thanks again all for the info.
