How many people play online ? is it even worth buying it for multiplayer ?

Steam charts says 300 players in peak times in the last 24 hrs, but it counts for the whole game in general offline and online, so it's kind of a pointless information.

If you typically play at European peak times, it's pretty good. American peak times have been weaker for some time.

Its popular at European evening times. Dont worry about total player count,all you need is you +23 other players for a full server.

The players will be there during January. No worries there. Might get quieter in February while people wait for the next major update.

even in the slow times the europeans typically have a full track or two

during the busy times NA can say the SAME thing....lol (4-6 EU tracks when busy)

but i can honestly say that as a general rule if you WANT to race (or just crash) there is ALWAYS a "show" somewhere

also note: for those looking to race (more than wreck) a SMALLER house (12 cars) is often more appropriate

if total mayhem is your thing....lol....24 is nice :)

If a US player, almost every Saturday night around 7:00pm pacific time I'm racing somewhere or hosting. I usually see 10-20 player lobby in my 5-6 hr sessions online.

With the new Dec Build, I expect to see 20+ player lobby this coming Sat night. Just like what we saw last Saturday! :)

Edit: We got off to slow start ( everybody was over at Space server 20\20 ), but we got to 20+ players in the lobby there for awhile last night. :)

The community is small, but it's very active and I've never had trouble finding a game. Even at off-peak times.

Wreckfest has a fantastic multiplayer. It manages to make finishing second-last with a pulverised car more fun than actually winning. I haven't laughed this hard at a racing game since Gas Guzzlers 3.
