1) try disabling (or enabling) PhysX via the Nvidia control panel
2) try getting the latests drivers for your graphic card.

I have GTX 260M (laptop) and I installed the latest drivers just yesterday.
As a comment to some previous posts, the PhysX is actually a must for this game. Even people with AMD GPUs need to have it installed for this game to work. I did not know this until I read the thread that I linked in my previous post.
If you were able to run this game previously, then I'd suggest you try to reverse the changes you made that broke the game. If you, on the other hand, have not been able to run this game at all, I'd recommend trying the latest drivers.
Can't really give further advice based on so little knowledge. Better to google it by yourself and try to find a fix.
Naive as the suggestion is to "reverse [your] changes" in an era of automated updates from every direction, I did go ahead and downgrade my Nvidia Windows 7 64-bit driver from the latest beta (326.19, auto-installed by GeForce Experience) to the latest non-beta (320.49, http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/63458#). Remember Me starts up now, though I don't know if there will be other problems with it or some other game. If someone knows how to report a broken beta driver to Nvidia, please do.
Revert to 320.49 drivers like Gryphon?
WIth that said, I actually read this thread: http://steamcommunity.com/app/228300/discussions/0/846959520964030282/ and then came over here to post about that thread. Gryphon definitely beat that other poster to the punch.
I downloaded 320.49 for Win 8 x64 and did a Clean Install. RM now runs properly. So "THANK YOU" to both you, Jzi, and to Gryphon for the callout on the bad drivers!
(in point-of-fact, I have removed my grumpy comments since they ultimate contribute nothing other than trying to add a "me too" voice to the list of those suffering from those drivers)
