Mouse/Keyboard or Controller?

Hey there,

I bought the game today but haven't played yet. I also have an Xbox 360 Controller. What do you say is it recommended to play with Gamepad or does it work pretty well with M/K too? thanks for your answers.

I played through w/ mouse and keyboard and I didn't have any problems but it probably works just as well with a controller so its really what ever you're most comfortable with.

The XB360 controller works fine, but Gooner's right, it's really your personal preference that wil dictate the choice.

playing with the mouse n kb is just horrible. it doesn't have 'true' freelook, and limits your view/cam movements so much its almost unplayable.

gonna try with a controller to see if it makes any sense that way. :/

Yep, mouse is horrible. It feels like the worst implementation of mouse acceleration I've ever experienced. Why on earth the mouse has the same acceleration as a control pad I do not know...

its ♥♥♥ infuriating. i expected it to play like tomb raider, which is excellent. but the camera angles and mouse movement are just simply annoying.

i should not have to resort to playing on a gamepad. im a pc gamer ffs :/

I am a pc gamer as well and I prefer using a controller for a game like this. Yes it sucks that the m+k implementation could have been better but get of your high horse, one of the many benifits of pc over consoles is the choise whether to use a m+k or controller etc and prefering a controller doesn't make one any less of a pc gamer.

Tell that to the many people which as soon as you mention PC, FPS and controller in same sentence, go APE$#!T at the very through of someone playing their precious game without m/kb.... (I mostly play on a TV, so I hear that a lot) lol.

Anyway, the game plays well with a pad, but even with that the movement to me feels a bit unpolished, so it's probably magnified 1000 times on a m/kb. :/

I haven't started playing the game yet. Is there any reason not to switch from KB+M to the gamepad or the other way around during some parts of the game (e.g. during combat)?

Was just plain easier for me to play with a X-Box 360 pad since a lot of the movement involves leaning to make a jump and I'm really terrible when it comes to using two keys at once especially if it's on two hands. On the pad, the L stick controls your movement and the R stick controls where to look. You can also walk with the L and turn yourself with the R so that your moving straight ahead but turning at the same time which helps me a bit. The biggest problem I've also had was timing hits or doing combos as I had about as much coordination as a cross- eyed goat and have a lot of trouble timming my hits. QTEs are a problem tt. It took me five times thru the Madame fight before I finally got the last QTE in as I wasn't "looking" in the right place.Funny thing is I always played the Dooms on a KB. Oh, Well.......

I can't get the 350 controller to be recognized by the game. any ideas? no problem at all with other games and 360 controller.
