IGN's Early review. I kinda saw this coming.

I usually don't care about IGN's reviews, but 5.9 is kinda low, I know it's the reviewer's opinion blah blah but still, seems Capcom failed us, yet again.

Why is IGN even reviewing a game that is not out yet? It doesn't come out until the 4th.

It's almost like they are asking people not to buy something before it's even on the shelves.

Hmm, ok, so the bad review is because it was not unqiue???

I wonder if the game so unique, would it get a bad review because it was unqiue??

In the end, most reviews are based on the opinion of the sole player reviewing it, which is unreliable to say the least.

In the end, every game has its positive and negative points, it seems like that the reviewers focus 75% of the review grade on the negative side of the game instead of a balance between the two......50/50 is best in this regard.

I mean, i love the idea that your ledge jumping never misses, the amount of games i have quit and dleted because of missing and not timing it PERFECTLY.

When it comes to combos, i like them easy to do, i HATE 10+ buttons to press for a required to succeed type combo...its off-putting.

In the end, i play for the story, nothing more, nothing less.

Thats my opinion, it doesn't make it the only one.

All reviews can be read the same way. You simply read the reviews and look at the pros and cons. Different reviews generally offer the same pros and cons of a game. You then decide for yourself whether or not the cons are worth the money. The only thing that is making me have a hard time dropping money on this is the fact that there isn't much in the way of replay value. At the same time, I think that maybe I lack the attention span to play a game longer than that, these days. It seems compelling enough for a single play through game. Maybe there will be some interesting DLC in the future, if it does well.

Honestly I never cared about reviews for any game, but for me this game looks kinda stiff from day one the showed the trailer. Combat feels weird, climbing looks dry.

so I'm ganna wait for a sale on steam.

IGN is a terrible source for reliable reviews, if i were you I would look elsewhere for honest opinions. Just ignoring the review embargos on half of their content they just generally lack critical thinking skills in regards to video games. They look down on truly great titles and praise the worst of the worst. I personally like Rock Paper Shotgun.

its important to remember that all reviews are subjective personal opinions and you definately should find reviewers that generally enjoy they same genres or elements that you do.

Screw reviews alltogether, is what I say. I had more fun with some 65/100 Metascore titles then I did with 85/100 Metascores. Anyway, it always depends on the individual if they can find the game and its mechanics enjoyable.

Take Star Trek for example. Boy, was that game panned, and yet I bought it and had a blast finishing it. There were bumps, sure, but I found it enjoyable on a personal level. And that's what it should be about. I could list other games here too, but that's not the point. The point is, the game is what you make of it.

So, the only one who has failed anyone is those people who take reviews from gaming sites on face value who give games like this a 5 or 6 but rate the x-th coming of CoD as the new revelation in first person shooting and give it a 9 our of 10 must buy rating.

Must have not paid IGN to give it a higher score.

I pre-ordered the game to "vote with my wallet" on companies supporting things like a protagonist who isn't the overused same-looking white male protagonist in nearly every game, an original non-sequel scifi story/setting, and I like gameplay (particularly combat) like in this game anyway.

^ this!
Eiv 3/jun./2013 às 1:54
I think you are too controllable, I pre-ordered it because I love sci-fi and future based things, I don't like reviews I can decide it if I need that game or not, or I could it like it or not
SlipperyWookiee 3/jun./2013 às 2:16
Check out Edge, they gave it an 8 and are a good source.

If you really distrust numbers so much, just watch TB's 10 minutes of the game and all your fears will be confirmed. The game sucks.
FlyBoogy 3/jun./2013 às 4:26
Honestly I didnt expect the game to be better than avarage right when they revealed it

Yet another mixed reviewed Capcom game. Polarizing games really have me interested as there seems to be the genuine opinions of reviewers that both really like and really dislike the game. Whenever it gets all high reviews or standard scores across the board, I'm starting to think they are "dishonest" in some way.

Gasp. I guess some people will have to think for themselves.

I never do read reviews before i purchase a game as i like to go into open minded but do view a few afterwards, some are just so completely different to what i was playing and end up laughing at them, it amazing me just how wrong or different so called magazines can actually be, i guess most things in this era is pretty fake and it shows.

Thast kinda saying,u spend money without checking before hand if the product is good,i dont think thats wise either..and that is same as pre-ordering,spending money before u know if it is actually worth the money
Well years ago games came out before reviews did so you purchased on the basis of what the hard copy had in it such as screenshots, description etc and purchased it if you kind of liked that, if i read all kinds of reviews then i just wouldn't buy half the games that get released, i'll only buy a game if it interests me.
