"...This first effort from Dontnod Entertainment clearly needed more time in the oven but I was wholly won over by the fantastic world-building and overarching conceit in Remember Me. Clunkiness aside, the game's signature Memory Remix sequences delivered moments that I'd never played in a game before. Here's hoping we haven't seen the last of Nilin."

Because she ain't all booty&boob?
oh and I'm running it on a dual core, windows xp and gt 8800 and it runs okay but a brand new spanking rig is on its way with gtx 750 ti (all I could afford :( ) in it so it better bloody work on that too :)
Just My opinion.
Linear is fine, but this game is the very definition of the word. You are completely boxed in to the point you feel you are on rails for the most part. It gets boring real fast as its literally the same the thing over and over. Platforming followed by a boxing arena, rinse and repeat. Cut and paste boss battles that end in a QTE and you have yourself this game.
The story is better than the game, but not by much. Atypical cyberpunk and a little disjointed.
Overall its as basic as it gets. Only briefly does tread into unknown territory before quickly returning to its tedium.
Honestly $10 is about the most I would pay for this game and I am by no means frugal. There is no way I could play through this game a second time. Its certainly not one of those games that was "overlooked" but good at heart. Its not bad, but its almost like the devs were trying to make this game just average.
If you absolutely love this type of game, platforming, combat, etc., its worth a buy. Just keep your expectations as low as possible.
"Edit: Been playing it. It's worth it. With that said, I wouldn't pay more than $10-$15 for it. Touchy platforming controls; outdated climbing methods instead of a more free jump environment like mirrors edge/assassins creed/brink; repetitive fighting and somewhat bland combat limited to the worst sounding combo creation names ever, like "pressons"; giant story hole that made me go wtf within the first 30 minutes (I hope it gets explained later). This is definately a game to play 15-30 minutes at a time. I think I am gonna surf the net for a bit, climbing around in such a simple minded way and being locked into gently stroking the same buttons over and over is well... boring.
Better combo systems exist, better running/climbing systems exist, better fighting systems exist, and they have existed for a long time before this game was made. I don't understand what rock the devs had been hiding under before making this game. With that said, the story is cool, I just wish the game mechanics made me want to finish it.
I'll work on this over the next week or so on and off."
To elaborate, DMC/Ninja Gaiden do combat better and more engaging with more thinking, freedom and fun on my part even with its arena type battles (which this game seems to have too). Assassins Creed has, imo, revolutionized anything that has to do with running and climbing in third person games (Other games obviously do different things in first person, mirrors edge, brink, titanfall [made after I know]).
Exploration should be removed and they should find another way to increase your life bar, it's just pathetic running into the obvious corner to grab the little orange boxes, but it is easy and fast, you probably won't miss any. After speed running RE4 as many times as I have, playing Titanfall after work, and even having had played Assassins Creed a year or two ago and Tomb Raider... I just find the game so boring to play for more than 30 minutes at a time.
The game feels like a huge step backwards mechanic wise in all arenas. The story is kind of engaging, I like the idea of it and how it relates to rampant consumerism, but the mechanics are kind of turning me off. It's DEFINITELY worth $10. I am not kidding, go buy it.
Don't pay full price for this though.
Edit: I did thoroughly enjoy all the aspecs of remixing the only memory I got to... That is, once it stopped telling me what to do and holding my hand to let me think on my own.
