"Game trainers" do they work? Are they safe?
I'm having a lot of trouble with the fighting, particularly stuck at the Leaper in episode three. I understand that you have to kill all his minions first, but I never seem to get the time to terminate the minions and he keeps running across and whacking me so hard I rarely recover. I've tried it twenty-odd times now and it is just getting boring.
I am considering paying for a "Trainer", such as the one from "Cheat Happens".

Does anyone have any advice? Do they work? Is it a scam? Riddled with virus? I really would like to finish this game but if this is how tough it is at episode three it might be worth getting some help.

"A", do you mean move left, as in WASD, or are you using a game controller?
I am on PC keyboard and mouse. The dodge key is space, but even then I find that i just can't move fast enough. There are at least four minions and they seem to keep coming back. If I spam them it takes many hits to wear them down. Then the big guy hits me again. Yes I can see the exclamation marks, and yes I dodge, but it takes so long to take down the little guys that the big guy is back again before I can finish one and after a while he will corner me. Sometimes three of the little buggers will surround me so I get trapped and WHACK in comes El Bozo again and soon I am toast. I tried another couple of times tonight but I have seen the same cutscene so many times I am just sick of it.
I haven't downloaded a cheat engine yet, I am looking for advice. Is there a general cheat engine or do I have to download a different one for every game?

Then you have your combos set up wrong or something. Make the 3 bar health only until you get the hang of things (ez to spam for ez health). I found having combos set up as spam to be much better than mixing them up (like all power blows in one, one for health, one for cooldown...power on the biggest bar available).

I'd also add that I use m/kb for everything except games like this that were completely made with only controllers in mind. I have to assume the controls being much more cumbersome here considering the need to aim your dodges to keep combos going (so you flip over the target's head...focus guys when possible).

Hmmm... so far in the game I have gained 3 combos, a 3-hit, which is 3 punches, a 5-hit, which is kick-punch-kick-punch-kick, and a 7-hit, p-k-k-p-k-k. I only have 7 pressens which means that I do not have enough to fill all the slots. I mostly use the 3-hit, because there is no time for the 5. I assume that the first hit is damage, so the second and third I have given to cool-down and regen. I'll try some other mixes.
On you tube playthroughs I have seen 4-hit combos being used, but I have not gained such a thing in this playthrough. Maybe I have missed something. Thanks for your help.
