GOG.com has the originals. Also, you can use the options to set the game to look and feel like the originals.

Next time, read the game description before buying it. Nobody is going to hold your hand while doing it.

Don't act like a five year old throwing a fit. Nobody is holding you at gunpoint and forcing you to play this game. This is the age of the internet. You can Google the original to find it if that's what you want to play. Just calm down, geez....

You have incredible people skills.

First off...make sure you have sprite outlines turned off. I have no clue why they enable that by default and even less than no clue why any one would ever want that turned on. If you do that, and enable the UI scaling for the modern resolution you are likely using, the game will look just like the original...a little better even. Just don't zoom in too far.

I agree about the cut sceens. Though when I modded the original cut scenes back in I found out why they made new ones. The originals will be supper tiny due to the modern resolution. I expected them to be blown up and pixelated, but it was the oposite. They were postage stamps. They could have made new higher resolution scenes that were similar to the original...but my guess is they didn't want to spend time on something most players would just click through anyway. it is still a shame though...I really hope they come back to them some day.

and you can just ignore the story mode...I doubt many people have ever used it. Though if they want to attract today's gamers they can't just force "normal" mode on them. Some wouldn't make it out of Candlekeep.

I agree that the sprite outlines should be turned off by default. I guess they're for visually impaired people. But that doesn't explain why they're enabled by default. I hope that a patch changes that.

It amazes me that someone with the grammatical grasp of a seven year old even wants to play Baldur's Gate. You do know this is a text-heavy game don't you? You can't just skip the dialogue, kill everything in sight, and then hope you've done enough to achieve the objective.

Actually, yes. With the 2.5 patch they are disabled by default.

You can disable many options in the game settings.
The LoB difficulty is optional.
You can try this mod for original movies - http://www.shsforums.net/topic/55573-mod-bgee-classic-movies/
The cinematics are pretty bad to be honest in the game. Beside that it's almost the same olf when one fiddle a bit with graphics.
