Just continue with the main quest (investigate the ironmines in Nashkel).
There should be an encounter - which can't be missed - right before reaching the mines where you can finally recruit him.
Well, leaving aside some kind of bug, it should trigger on it's own.
We are in the "(spoilers)" forum already.
If anybody is actually stupid enough to click this topic and then get mad at having the information revealed before they figure it out themselves, then that's their problem.
Not ours.

Ah, alright then.
In any case, I don't even know how to apply the spoiler tag, anyways. :(
My personal belief: Spoiler blocks/tags are silly because reading anything before doing it is a spoiler, so no one should ever get angry about someone not using them ;)
Since we are in a new spoiler forum that I've never seen before, I was just entertained by Kiryan's post. I thought I was being funny, but I guess it is only entertaining to me, sorry all.
To make a spoiler tag/block, just preceed the text with a bracket, the word "spoiler" and a close bracket: "[" + "spoiler" + "]" (all following text will be blacked out)
