How to activate Mods on Steam Version

anyone mind explain me if Steam version has any different way to activate mods?

Because of have a old mod that i used to use a lot on the old days, and i m unable to activate it.

Tried to place on lauch options "-mod module name" and its just not working.
In this case the mod is "Opposing Fronts Advanced AI mod v2.0" where the argument would be "-modname OF_AI_mod".

And i do remember very well it used to work on the old version. But since its been years i no longer remeber if steam needs some tricks or special ways to activate it

If the mod was never updated to work with the Steam version, you should try it with the Legacy version.

has far as i know nothing changed "internally" on the game with the new version (outside of servers and steam integration), so the mod should work on the new version as it did on the old one.
Thats why i was asking if theres any special method in steam version, since i want to avoid downloading the old one (even tought its not that big)

try putting "-dev" before "-mod OF_AI_mod"
