Does this record 4K resolution in games?
I have FRAPS now, but it really slows down the game when I play it in 4K resolution, does this product record in 4K ? I know that some software/products (i.e. ShadowPlay) only record up to 1080P (even if you are playing the game in 4K). Is the framerate much better than FRAPS when recording a game in 4K?

Any info on this stuff would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Also, is the video quality on-par with FRAPS in 4K? I mainly want to record my games in 4K. I have 32 GB RAM, 12 GB VRAM Titan Z graphics card (the newest one), and @ 2.7 ghz cpu for my pc specs.

I can definitely play games in 4K, just not while recording with FRAPS (drops to 10-15 fps if recording), which is why I'm looking for another product for my gameplay recordings.

Any info on this stuff would be greatly appreciated. Is there a demo I can try before buying this product?

Thanks.

There is a trial version you can test I believe, I don't know about 4K, i don't even have a 1080p monitor, nor do my specs even come close to yours, so get the Trial & poke it.

Uh, yeah, it does record in 4k..as long as Original is selected. It does slow down the gameplay a bit (depending on game), but still fairly playable on my end for the most part.

I hope you found the answer for your question. This might help a bit. Since you have a card with newer architecture in it (Maxwell) you can be able to record at 4K with ShadowPlay. Video cards with Maxwell architecture can enable shadowplay to record in 4K. Older video cards can't. ShadowPlay do not impact your game play as bad as FRAPS. You will like it. As a reference, video cards with KEPLER architecture (GTX 600 seires) can record with ShadowPlay up to 2K only (2560x1600). I use FRAPS or Action Mirilis to record in 4K since my video cards do not fall into category to record in 4K with ShadowPlay. The highest i can record with my system is 2560x1440p with shadowplay. I have the GTX 780 Classified in 3 way SLI. I hope you find this helpful.

I tried Shadowplay, but the videos were all messed up and wouldn't play at all. It was weird because the first batch of videos played fine but the 2nd batch were completely unplayable. I can';t really take a chance with my recordings so Shadowplay is a bit too tempormental for me.

I'm going to try OBS and see if that's any better. I tried Action! but the videos skipped during playback and the audio got out of synch during the recording so that didn't work either. Does anyone have any other software suggestions for me to try/

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. FRAPS slows the game down way too much for me to use it in most 4K games so I really need to find an alternative recorder.

Thanks.

Yeah any fixes for the syncing/skipping problems with recording high resolutions like 4k with Action yet? Same problems here.

Implying it doesn't work when you've spent at least 160 hours in Action according to Steam. Something must have just changed on your end recently for you to say that. So surely it does work, troll :(
