Action! - Gameplay Recording and Streaming

Software won't open
I just got this software not to long ago from the steam sale - but anyways whenever I open the program I just get stuck on this Error note:

CRITICAL ERROR

Failed to initialize product. Please try reinstalling.
----------------
I've tried reinstalling it a couple of times but still get the same error. Im also a bit noob of troubleshooting software and all.

i fixed my problem by removing DWR.exe and action.exe form my oubond rules in: windows firewall with adwanced settings (win 8.1)

I have the same starting problem with this software :(

Rebry: Where did you found DWR.exe and how did you removed this two things?

The other solutions in the other discussions didn't helped...

Deleting the DWR.exe didn't help me because I didn't have it in my firewall for some reason, to get to the DWR.exe you need to (My control panel is viewed by Category -
[Control Panel/System and Security/Windows FireWall/Advanced Settings(Thats on the left side not in the middle)]. I got it fixed by running it on admin.

My System is Win7 and I also can't find the DWR or DWM (I read it on other google-sites). So, there isn't another way :( ecxept running Steam as Admin.

My System is Win7 too, I didn't get much help from the team, but this might help:

1. Uninstall Action!
2. Press Start and then type "Regedit" in search and press Enter.
2. Go to the following path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Mirillis/
3. Remove Action! catalog.
4. Reboot your PC.
5. Install Action! again. Make sure that your installer file comes from official website - www.mirillis.com

Notes (From the Support Team Emails they sent me):
(if you own a Steam version please skip the second part of the last step and proceed to install Action! from Steam client.)
(The Action! will then register it is in Trial but if you open it in Admin it will activate it.)
( The fact that there is no registry files for Action! may be explaining why you cannot open the software. Please install Action! again and see if there were created registry entries.)

Ah, ok. Then I'm not too sure. Maybe a new computer or try it with a friends com.

hmm, I cannot say im able to find the dwr.exe anymore from my windows firewall, possible becauase ive allready removed them..
But since it does not apprear, i doubt its the same problem as ive got?
Why no try running it as aministrator?

I do it now as admin.

I only searched for a solution before, because I can't like it, to give programs admin-rights...

Action! requires administrator rights due to technical reasons. Without them the software will not run properly.

Hi I Have the solution for that problem, Easy Steam Exit. Then as Administator Run. Then Login. And that program start schonn Solte it running. Hope I could help, because many have that problem! Greetings it should not Fungsionieren? Then If man that program once full Enfernene, in the Control Panel and there, Should man that program deinstalieren. And again New instalation on Steam. Good luck!

For people who use "pre activated trial" before they bought soft there is another solution
1. Uninstall Action!
2. Press Start and then type "Regedit" in search and press Enter.
2. Go to the following path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Mirillis/
3. Remove Action! catalogue.
4. Remove all leftover Mirillis folders in your drive
5. Go to Control Panel and open Windows Firewall.
6. Click Advance options
7. Delete all blocking rules from Inbound and Outbound
8. Clean your HOST file. Here is how -> https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/972034
9. Reboot your PC.
10. Install Action! again.

I already bought mine on steam, how do i download from website??

whenever i go to the mirillis website it just shows a white screen or a screen with the error "ssl_error_rx_record_too_long" please help
