You are kind of an idiot, that is a source port with mods. Anyone using the steam version can get that, since source ports / mods are free.
but it should be in 1 package so you don't have to spend weeks finding all the best mods and compiling them together :P
Or a professional dev company can make a total replacement mod with their own sourceport in D3D9 that has 3D Vision support, real-time lighting and shadows and parallax bumpmapping and I'll buy that (so no inconsistencies in textures due to multiple packs by different peeps and professional quality models! and for doom, doom2, plutonia AND TNT) with 2K textures and skins and make said mod 8+ gig in size (but I dream now) *Any devs out ther reading this, Here's a good project for you*

The problem is, many source ports have many capabilities, and development is continually being done with them. Plus having it the wads themselves means you can do whatever you like with them.

I suppose you could bundle it with zandronum but even then I'm sure people would want to play it other ways.
They could also sell BrutalDoom, or ZDOOM, or package it with Ghoul's Forest, Unloved, and DoomRL. But they don't. Know why? Because this is the latest official version from id. Mods are there to be found and downloaded.

I've taken this request on hand, as a member of the community, and am developing two projects towards this end:

1) http://sourceforge.net/projects/dooms-19-winx64/
2) http://sourceforge.net/projects/teamplay/

Both have been under development for about a month each, so by Christmas 2013... or better yet the 20th Birthday of DOOM (10-Dec-2013) I may have something worth sharing with General Members of the Public.

The dooms-19-winx64 one is in a Public state but it's not finished and geared towards Windows x64 (currently).

The Open TeamPlay project is in a Alpha/Beta state and will pretty much do everything anyone can dream of in relation to this request (and many like it).

These will always be 3rd party additions to the DOOM, DOOM II, Ultimate DOOM, Final DOOM, etc. games though. Steam will probably never officially support them (as I do).

I do agree that having 'id software' push the PrBoom Source Port on the iPhone, but the original DOS version (320x200 with 4:5 non square pixels) in Steam is a little weird.

In relation to some of the above, neither Valve, Steam nor id software can sell (for profit) certain 3rd party additions to DOOM. DOOM has been GPL'd for quite some time and I don't see id software approaching any 3rd party developers to package and bundle their stuff with a release. (Final DOOM was kinda like this, but that was a very long time ago, and prior to the GPL'ing).
