Thoughts on the new DOOM (The Dark Ages)
I am scared. The price tag is INSANE and I don't wanna spend more than 110 clams (AUD) on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Every game needs a parry now, even FPSes. I just hope this one doesn't play like age of empires like doom eternal did
I think it looks very good, or at least it promise to looks very good... I will definitely play it more for curiosity than anything... I think it will be good, I can see (hope to see) some fun and spectacular moments...
The 100 GB is probably good because it makes me hope for a long game that you don't just finish in a few hours, unless the 100 GB are not just ultra-realistic rocks
Then the price... I will buy the standard, not deluxe... And... ... Yeah I will probably pre-order it one of these days but it's not gonna be easy, the price is not a joke, it will hurt to do the payment process, but let's hope is gonna worth it... Because if it's not... ... ... ... ... ............

looks great to me. I won't preorder this one though and will wait to see a review or two and more game play before I buy. but so far it looks to be a pretty solid buy for me.

Heresy.
Gameplay wise it looks like a return to form from classic doom. Focus on horizontal movement, strafing to dodge, tons of enemies barraging you with projectiles, quick melee animations instead of locking you into place and I don't think we even see the slayer jump once, just leap to his shield. Having the status bar face return is also a nice touch, Doomguy even raises his eyebrows like in OG and makes the pain face.

People who found Eternal too fast paced or wanted something more grounded in combat will be very happy - this game seems to be even closer to classic gameplay than 2016 was. Even as someone with 700 hours of eternal and loved the hell out of it - I'm ready for a new setting and new gameplay.

Artistically though if people didn't like the sentinels and argent d' nur setting from the first two games then I doubt this one will win them over. Those who like to watch doom as a movie or value immersion are probably not going vibe with mecha dragons, space knights and obese angels... still very much a saturday morning cartoon world despite the grit.

It looks fun, but that price of entry?

80 bucks for base game, 100 for "full version".

RTX card, 16 core CPU and NVME SSD required.

No multiplayer.

Premium version comes without all DLC.

I dunno, this just sounds like a very expensive game for what it offers.

"Loved the Hell out of it." Intentional joke?
The price alone fully destroyed any interest I had.

You're probably from USA, but in Australia I don't think anybody could afford all of that. It would be maybe 1500-2000 USD but in AU 2000-3150!
actually looks good, but i don't know who's going to play newer AAA games with how much they cost
