Then there's the bazillions of gameplay, graphics, and audio mods. Raytracing? Sure. PSX maps with Doom64 monsters and weapons? Why not.
It's a re-release with some cool features out of the box and people are upset for things that were never available in these games in the first place?
Some of you guys have weird expectations, and that's your problem really.
Classic Doom and Doom II never had this.
To be fair that's the point. Staying faithful to the classic.
I like that about them tbh.
Exhumed/Powerslave is the perfect example of why that's the good approach imo.
The goal is to give everyone a taste of the past, but with something functional out of the box.
I love Brutal Doom but it's great to get something "close" to the original, with some nice modern features like crossplay online and some good mods.
Accessibility is key, and the more people on Doom the better right?
Doom ports does have their own good parts though

like this one, turns into an rpg mode with an UAC homebase, missions and shops etc to return to between maps or episodes, and a huge amount of maps included. The launcher also includes an update button so you dont have to redownload everything each version
If i get nostalgic i just play it originally as it should be.
Arrow keys + ctrl + alt + shift + space
But this is Doom 2024 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Doom has vertical and horizontal auto-aim. You can also use the mouse to look left and right, but not vertically.
thank you captain obvious. now tell me where in option i can turn off than ancient bull***t, and properly play game?
You are properly playing the game, there's a lot of skill involved and the auto aim can be more of a hindrance than a help sometimes :)
Also, you can install a source port like GZDoom to turn off the auto aiming and enable mouselook.
