yes absolutely, it's like playing the remastered version. Graphics change a lot and you can set 1920*1080

ZDoom is dead and i'm pretty sure it has less mod support, use GZDoom or QZDoom. The "Enhanced" graphics can be turned off in OpenGL options.

ZDoom is discontinued and is more or less there for archiving purposes. GZDoom and QZDoom support switching between Software Rendering and OpenGL. For most gameplay mods OpenGL is the best. But if you just want to play levels that don't have many crazy features, either Software or OpenGL will do fine, albeit Software does give the highest performance on vanilla maps.

just turn off mouse look and texture filter and perhaps set sector light to software mode in GZDOOM then it looks pretty classic to me

Just another alternative, Chocolate Doom and Crispy Doom make sure the game plays exactly the way it was 20 years ago, but with almost no mod support,

Most vanilla wads are still playable on them so if people only want that, there isn't much of a problem for them. Albeit for gameplay mods, yeah, no chance of playing those.

Use GZDoom, ZDoom is dead. However if you like mulitplayer use Zandronum.

GZdoom has the options to make it look like Zdoom, or the originals even.

Doom (strict) doesn't exactly have things like increased speed by wall running or the likes, but oh well, that's what Chocolate Doom is for. And yeah, GZDoom is as flexible as it can get.

Yes it does, it's just harder to do.
