You can run & gun with the .30 cal as well. To classify the BAR as an assault rifle simply because you can runn & gun with it like a rifle pretty much means almost all the LMG's are classified as an assault rifle because almost all of them (with practice) could be fired like a rifle.

auto-rifles for the most part can easily get that term

It does the job in close quarters, though in this particular game, they will probably add the 44 eventually for replay value. There are plenty of ways to balance things out and by then everyone will run OHK bolt action (since sniper rifle is nerfed), so it will be difficult even for someone with STG to get any work done.

From real life firing I've found the recoil of the stg44 to be quite aweful compared to any other AR of this age. Its clunky and awkward, but I can see how the stopping power and range were a huge advantage compared to submachineguns.

I did not say nazi faction so you'd better get your head examined , becauise except that you do not know how to read you do not understand as well.
So go back to whinning for your nazi weapon of german faction in the game now.
