Why is the M1 Garand suck so bad?
The M1 Garand is such a great weapon in real life and to make it require 2-3 shots to kill someone in game is quite insane. The M1 garand can pierce top grade 2014 bullet proof vests, also they used armor piercing rounds in the m1 garand in ww2 that would pierce multiple cars and still keep going. I have shot a M1 garand before in real life and its a beast, only other rifles should 1-2 shot people in game. Makes you wonder why the german guns machine guns would 1-2 shot people all day in the gut compared to a 30-06 round ripping a though you. I think the creators should shoot some ww2 guns before they make a game, This game is starting to feel like Call of Duty with BS guns. What is everyone elses opinion on the guns?

ya, the 30-06 round was bigger and deadlier than the 7.62 and should therefore do more damage.
Still, its the weapon that have killed me the most. I have silver on heavy set and I get one shotted a lot (not headshots) with full hp.

m1 and g43 can not be modded for one hit kill
its matter of only hearing one shot but in reality its two
I just started a new soldier to go into tanks. I played a sniper for weeks and found my M1 to be very deadly even at a great distant. I get a lot of head shots now. I was thinking what a great gun when I started over. If I'm on the ABC maps its a better gun in the tight spaces. Shoots faster then my sniper rifle and I can see whats going on around me a lot better. Only takes a day or two to get the Thonpson so you dont need to be stuck with a M1 long.

Just drop it as soon you kill GE. Im alwyas running with stolen german weapon. At this stage is balance issue. GE weapon is much easier to play.
I have modded my Garand to max damage @ short range and use it with Antitank weapons. I two shot everything when not hitting heads or meeting someone with Heavy Shield Badge which gives me 1 or 3 shots targets. I find it extremly well made and I used it as well when I was in the military and I could drag it through mud and it would still shoot after you pissed down the pipe to clear the mud out. GREAT gun and you can use it short and long range to the max of your skills.
I've used this guide tio mod my weapons:

I agree. I like to pick up german weapons since at least their sights seem to be more useful. I experienced not killing anybody with the garand, and after picking up a G43, it went like a hack. Seriously, I immediatly improved when I picked up the G43.

Thats true. But the Germans used 7,92 x 57 mm Mauser amunition at this time. I'm not a expert but the stats http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/7,92_x_57_mm and http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/.30-06_Springfield do not show much difference.
The m1 in this game is silent. You never hear that thing fire.

Thats a serverissue...I die constantly from shots I dont hear...or i only hear one shot from a greasgun and die..without headshots...well he probably fired half a clip but the game didnt bother telling me.
I'd like to know how people become good enough with the Springfield BA to get enough upgrades to get the one-shot kill.
A one-shot kill ability with a BA rifle seems absolutely necessary.
Currently, I get a hit and the enemy turns around and empties a clip into me while I'm reloading.

The Springfield BA rifle is totally unsuited to objective capping, and the sight is terrible.
When I use it I find myself tending toi be stationary and dying a lot.
It's not even good for sniping as the mass of iron in the base of the sight obscures the target.
And if I concentrate on AT when using the rifle, my BA rifle skills won't improve.

When I use my Thompson I get 2-1 kill ratios and cap lots of objectives.
When I use the Springfield get a 1-5 kill ratio...if I'm lucky.

Rifles generally seem terrible in H&G.

true, but the k98 and the g43 kinda use the same round. Powerfull enough to kill a person, g43 were also used as sniper rifles, so they assumably had some useful accuracy and damage somewhere in there, like the SVT-38/40, or Scoped M1 Garand

depends on the user's weapon preference, some may excel with smg, others may with rifles, or both could with them all

Actually, in terms of ballistsics I'm pretty sure the heavier the round, the more likely it was to leave an exit wound because it passes through the body very easily. (Which is not really what you want when your shooting someone) And it wasn't 7.62, it was 7X92 or "8mm" if you were in the German military.
