Paratrooper Setup
So I have reached Rank 7 with my US Infantryman with my bolt-action rifle skills at Gold II. This means the next unlock I get with this, is the Scoped BA-Rifle. I was thinking about switching to the paratrooper branch, and buy the sniper rifle when unlocked. Paradropping into church and belltowers behind enemy lines and infantry-mining all the entrances seems like a decent way to clean up some germans. Turns out after doing some research, you cant actually bring sniper rifles and such in this branch, and weight-slots are reduced from 10 to 6.
NOTE : You are not informed to this in the game itself. It only says you can get acces to the transport-planes.
I would like some more clarification on this. What are the things I can and cannot do when switching to the paradropper branch. weapon accesibilty, inventory slots?

long story short no LMGs no snipers no bazooka 6 inv slots and that is about it you can bring anything else but probs not much ammo for them

for example some paras bring AT nades and a pistol

the only other thing as para is you cannot spawn normally so you can't bring cars bikes ect ect. Don't quote me on this but i think you can still spawn on halftracks still.

A Paratrooper has 6 "eqiupment points", you can either use an SMG or a FG42 Ausf. E for six points.(FG-42 is German only) A rifle weights 1 point less so you can bring one of the Close Combat Weapons. The third alternative is bringing Handguns and Explosives to the battle. The Free fall is considered the best badge for paratroopers for letting you deploy your parachute near the ground making it hard to shot you while dropping down to the ground.

Grenadier Paratrooper

Category Equipment
"Primary" A Pistol
"Secondary" Grenades
"Extra" Anti tank grenades or other Grenades
"Badge" Free Fall CB and if possible Dynamite Lover CB

Congrats for doing research before you asked this Q, I applaud you and wish more people did the same.
I would also discourage anyone from using their 1st soldier to change classes, i.e. para, tank, recon, pilot. You will ALWAYS need a basic infantry soldier (or 2 or 3 or 4) so that you can join battles which may not contain your specialty and so you can equip them with different weapons and loads for various tasks. A basic rifleman, a SMG gunner and an Anti-Tank soldier are always good choices so that one can switch during battles. Other specialties can wait and the time spent as infantry will serve you well in becoming acquainted with the map terrain and the vagaries of game play in general.

This post has been very helpfull. Il just stick to my infantryman. I searched around some more, and it appears there isnt any valid reason for me to switch to the Recon branch as well, since the only thing I would get, is the unlocked sniper rifle.

Not for your primary infantry, though it's fun to have one and they're extremely profitable to deploy, to great effect, with a factory standard SMG.

Play with just one soldier and you'll not get the full experience. I'm not sure if that's what you're doing here but I'd agree that you should keep your BA ribbon and start setting up another infantry to become your para instead, the BA work you've done is too good to lose!

Yeah, I'm trying to get a wide variety of soldiers with different specialities, but it takes an extremely amount of time before you even reach the paratrooper branch.
