Heroes & Generals Memories 20.09.2023
A great game based on the atmosphere of World War II, when at the beginning you were reborn and the enemy was killing you and you didn't even know where he shot from. Over time you understood the mechanics of the game. You started climbing on the ladder in the attic of the house to kill someone who was going to climb it, over time you learned to check the attic and throw 2 grenades to kill the enemy. When you learned to repair your friend's tank when another tank was shooting at it, you always won. Along the way, you met many other players who willingly played with you over time, you unlocked better and better weapons until you finally reached Sturmgewehr Stg 44 and felt the joy of getting frags. Likewise, when you got the best tank, you stood at the end of the map and the enemy was unable to destroy you while facing him. I will miss this game, I didn't spend much on it, maybe $50 when I was growing up, but today, at the age of 24, I just miss it... Today I wanted to play something after a long break and I chose Heroes & Generals, but I also had Hell to choose from Let Loose and Red Orchestra, however, were the most addictive games for me and made me like coming back to them after a shorter or longer break.
That feeling when we received special helmets for the 5-10th anniversary of the game made us feel like SOMEONE important to the game...
My middle school, high school and several years of my adult life passed with this game. I keep my fingers crossed for you and looks cry at the lobby... :'(

I started playing this game way back in 2014, when I was 14 years old, now I am 23, although the game had many and I mean many issues, it will always have this special place in my heart and memories.

Such a heartfelt text and I can relete to 1000%

From childhood friends all joing, playing a while, discovering that the soviet starter tank ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ floats, that was great fun!

When I finished high school I was allready pretty good at this game, constantly finishing top of leader bord, even joined some clans. LOVED THE RTS/FPS combo. Started doing general work, got really far until I just lost the time for it.

Now I wish I could play just a couple games or inspect my account and cherish these memories.

♥♥♥♥ I sound nerdy, but its the truth
We are still here friend, i am surprised that quite a number of people stuck around in the forums after the game died. I am sure this place will be a wasteland in a couple of years but its comforting that some kid will stumble on this game years later and see what we posted here and how bad we felt. Be happy that you got to experience it, no really you should because a lot of people will never even be able to play it again but we did and those memories are real.

When i heard the game was dying i played the crap out of the game for the last remaining months trying to enjoy every single detail of the game. I started at the walls, at the vehicles, at the character models ect because i was trying to appreciate every texture work, every model and every last bit of the game. I wanted to remember this game forever and i will.

I made the mistake of only playing a couple of matches in the last week.
Truly miss the game now and yeah I look back at the time with fondness, ups and downs for sure, but god the game truly was something.

It's sad they didn't open source the code and allowed the community to host servers :(
