Heroes and Generals 2: The Next War

Seems like an upgraded version of the game, with Unreal Engine 5 has been confirmed https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/heroesandgeneralsww2/heroes-and-generals-2-the-next-war
My question is that I'll lose all the progress I've made so far or will the stats/guns/vehicles be transferred into the new game?
It would be quite a shame to lose them all, since this game will be closing.

Heroes & Generals 2 will also take place during WW2. 'The Next War' more references the fact that there are more wars to fight!

But those of us that did start even back then ( and earlier ) knew deep down that the "Home built Engine" is never a good sign and in the end have to be either totally rewritten from new or just changed to one that the company's main focus is just the Engine ( like Unreal ) and the game's Developers can focus solely on the game itself...

Or maybe it's just us that went thought the same thing with DayZ and had to suffer first through the Arma2/3 Real Virtuality Engine to the change over and start again with the Enfusion Engine?

Maybe like there lightning will strike twice here? Only time will tell... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This is an excellent idea, there was many theaters at WW2 and they were actually separate wars between 1939-1945

We've said it before, the Developers have said it before in the notice and the video...

The game's Retox Engine can't let anything be fixed or new added... it's at the end of use.

If they are going to make a game that has a future, room to expand, ability to upgrade... it needs a new Engine. The 3M is for paying employees and resources to make the game.

Because this game has been losing the company money for 6 years. HnG is not going to continue, end of story. HnG 2 is the only thing that can happen at this point.

The game has been running for 10 years on an antique BROWSER MADE launcher using a double-window launch system that devours processing power and is poorly maintained due to its complicated rat's nest of coding guys....

A new game for H&G is a GOOD thing. Honestly it's far overdue, but the fact H&G survived **10 years** like this is amazing.

I would love to see veterans of H&G get some kind of in-game skins for vehicles or clothing to express the devotion of those returning for a fresh start, but I also understand why it's more than likely not going to happen.

I understand the pain of losing out on money you put into the game (i just used what i had saved up for more premium time on unlocking the jagdpanther and Tiger II. might as well use it y'know?) and have just enough premium time to make it 6 months and 3 days out left from when i got it back last February.

You lose your current progress because it's a brand new game.

You're not losing your friends
You're not losing your videos and screenshots
You're not losing the tactics you learned
You're only losing the physical form of the first H&G.

The second game is slated to come out in the second quarter of 2024, meaning IF THE KICKSTARTER GOES WELL we may be able to start playing again within 6-8 months (not even a year) from the time this game goes completely down.

It's far better expectations than even most AAA titles who wait YEARS to make a followup game after they shut down the first.

Besides, there's a ton of problems cropping up with this game's stability. They've basically been keeping this game alive through life-support systems, duct tape and crossed fingers...

It's time we move forward to the next game.

No more stat based weapon mods please, it was a bit awkward to have those 1 shot boltie periods in the past and all that, and then leading to awkward balancing issues across gear and player progression and accessibility. Then came scopes and different magnifications and all that.


Imagine no one bothers to use anti tanks so the other team freely uses tanks?

Also big doubts on the kickstarter.
They need to show some prototypes and some results before kickstarters will pull off.

I'd be fine with H&G1 shutting down if they gave you something based on your progress, them not doing that will really hurt their donations.

is this really your concern? i would love to farm everything back from 0, that is what playing the game is, and i am mostly playing the M1 garant even if i have every weapone in the game anyway. but that is not the point. The point is we are not having a new game, we are loosing the old one and they are milking the community with an impossible goal so that they can profit from our dedication to the game they are killing.
I didn't write this earlier because i felt it was an impulsive rant, but honestly after seeing the outcome i find this is the only senseful thing to say.

I'd rather lose all my progress and devs start making profits with their new game and improve it as much as they can, rather than tons of people with tons of in-game currencies and weapons not helping the devs and TLM make money. If they don't make money again, the new game will be nothing but a waste of time for both the company and the players.

Even though I heavily criticized this game and quite possibly treated it wrong a few times, I prefer to see this franchise live rather than die in agony.

The thing is. The existing Heroes and General community is fairly small ngl. So giving that small community in a multiplayer reliant game some of their stuff from the previous game isn't much to ask at all. That small community would bring in new players allowing the game to grow, instead they said "F all of you we ain't giving you *hit" and also asked for donations. That's like saying. "hey man, if you give up your house and property I got a real nice place over here, but you'll have to pay for it and can't sell your previous house. Ditch all of what you have and pay me for this new updated house." It's silly.
