don't be shy :)
Player Z made:
XY kills
XY amount of health healed
XY headshots
*Yawn*
I'd prefer it if they were not just a collection of numbers but rather "interesting" things that happened and how they happened.
For example:
Longest kill shot of the day (580 m with Weapon X)
Highest multikill streak of the day (6 people with AT Mine)
etc.
Pretty sure people could think of some more "entertaining" things to put on a leaderboard than simply adding all the kills the players did... :/
now those two ideas would be a cool leaderboard... right now all we know from kills and headshots is who's running cheats....
Be it farming cars for a high score as pilot or farming caps by hiding outside of them in the bushes and playing cat-and-mouse with the enemy team, farming your friends tank or spawncamping the enemy's last point from 225+ meters away, all these leaderboards show are the biggest farmers trying to inflate their e-peens.
They should also link up the overall stats to the Leaderboard (for all soldiers) that is now fixed in-game.
They do claim to be open to suggestions for adding new things to the Leaderboard so get these in guys. @ Mac & Scalpell.
yeah they could include multiple factions into 1 players score, since the main username is shared across factions, the soldiers name is really pointless to include.
if you spread your gameplay across a variety, say 33% fighter, 33% tanker% 33%infantry then setting a goal to better some of your rivals/friends is not going to show in the leaderboard so as you said "meaningless".
i only play 1 faction so i like having a goal because i use mainly 1 soldier, i have no real interest in playing as the other two (factions)
i know i'll never have better numbers then exploiters/hackers/farmers.
i play for fun and i think the inclusion of the leaderboard is imo a good inclusion.
as far as the inflated ego part my use of the words "show off" in my original post wasn't to be taken serious. if you feel egoism is all the scoreboard has to offer you should stop looking at the best scores maybe? try looking at your own and comparing them to others you play with/against. i'm not having a go at you i've played in at least a few skirmishes with you and you're a good player but to blanket statement what everybody gets out of looking at statistics isn't fair.
that goes for my previous reply too
#15 very nice!
i've slipped aswell, i play the most in the weekendends so now through the weekdays i will probably slip further and further meh, still good score.
havn't got timne to go over the rest sorry.
The only real use I find from the leaderboards is for finding potential faction imblances.
For example, German Recon dominate the long-range rifle kills leaderboard and Germany does the best in defense, while US and Soviets generally do better with LMGs than Germany (despite the 'rebirth' of the MG42.)
