Germany initials

Why are people calling Germany "GE"? DE is the proper initials for Deutchland(Germany).

GE is for Georgia and I dont think thats in the game yet.

The same reason we call the United States of America's army 'US', or the Soviet Union 'SU'.
These aren't correct, but they are easy to recognise and understand.

Most people just know Germany as Germany, Deutchland might be correct, but it isn't as well-known. It's the same as Союз Советских Социалистических Республик, the Soviet Union. We don't see many people calling the Soviets the 'CCCP' in game, despite being correct. It doesn't exactly roll off the tongue for people unfamiliar to the Russian language.

DE is the international Abriviation for Germany (much like US is internationally known), it may different abriviations in the original language, however other countres can identify these abriviations. I can see your point of view with languages changing these initials however I must dissagree between the english short hand and what is universaly accepted.

Georgia will be never in the game lol........ We call it GE because its from word "German" Ge then goes to GE, it is just abbriviation only instead of call its full name.

Previously it's not been a good idea to associate modern Germany to previous incarnations without directly stating such. Now perceptions are beginning to change and people can mention the war. In my youth it would open a can of worms to tie Germany to the past but happilythe only hard right of note are in English speaking lands.

I will not go as far as to say most but alot of ppl don't know all nations initials for example like Dk, Se or Pl just to name something...

And most games tend to have there own slang (acronyms) to make the communication easier in the chat...
