This game doesnt strictly adhere to historical accuracy (thankfully). Its a game that prefers balance. Also, what you are describing would be a sort of "mag upgrade" category which this game doesnt have, only an additional mag upgrade.
Well then all the russian sub machine guns should have stick mags. If the game prefers a "Balance game."

Soviet SMGs are balanced by having piss poor aim past 20 meters while US and Ger SMGs are more accurate at a longer range.
A guy posted to add Thompson a drum mag which is more ammo. He didn't even reliase that Jhonson and M1919 Browning laser gun are weapons that known really good in the game than others (e.g. The overnerfed MG42). Top Kek

I am fairly certain that the Thompson variant in this game (either M1 or M1A1) cannot use a drum. It was other versions like the M19(18?) that took drums.
normally most US troops used the magazine also if theres going to be a drum mag attachment added to game well make the thompson inaccurate.

this essentialy what reto did to PPSH-41 or the PPD-40

but the russian guns have absolute garbage accuracy in comparison. if the thompson had a drum it would be unstoppable because its so stable
I guess the drum mag will have a longer reload time

doesnt matter people will just hide more like they do with the mg42. what really matters is a gun with high stability being able to unload 100 bullets or some bs without reload
The Thompson M1A1 was a version made specially for the US army. It could only use 30round mags and not the drums. The drums were deemed too unreliable and unstable to be used by soldiers. Only other versions of the Thompson like M1928 could use the drum mags.

Have you ever tried PPSH? It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mess.
No drum mag for Thompson M1A1

Its better off adding Thompson M1928 with the drum mag (this can be USA's tier 3 SMG)

Drum mags were used more often on M1928s, less were used on M1A1s
If Im not mistaken you are referrring to the m1927 with a 50rnd drum. while it would be cool it would require some nerfing to get rid of some of the already rampant bias in some of the american stuff. it woulld be the p38 of infantry tbh

i have to agree,if they were to add a drum they for sure would need to tweak the handling of the gun to make it slightly worse for the added dps of the extra ammo

Edit: my spelling was terrible ;)
