Revolution vs HD???
Is there a difference between the revolution and hd editions of first and second encounter???

I know there is a difference from the classics and revolution.

Which is the better version? Revolution or HD?

Do you want the original games or do you want a changed version with better graphics at the cost of missing anything to do with cool physics

Revolution is the old classic engine. HD is remaster with completely new one.

So they have the same exact content other than having different graphics engines and physics? Do physics play any role other than being physics?

For example kleers behave slightly different when jumping in HD

That really does not explain anything to those of us who have never played the games.

The HD version doesn't contain any of the gravity effects. They took out the hidden level from First Encounter (where you were able to flip gravity to walk on ceilings) and some secret rooms, like that ball where you could run around freely. In Second Encounter for example they also made changes, there's one section that plays inside a large tube, you were able to run around it upside down and enemies too would spawn everywhere, upside, downside...while in the HD version there's no gravity except on the bottom part and wooden arms move you around which i find pretty lame. For me that's the main reason to stick to the originals, even though those are only some small sections of the game, it adds some diversion to the games i think.

Harpies also no longer carry Headless Kamikazes to drop them on the player or near them.

The graphic in general is better in the HD version, though i found some texture changes very weird. Like the finale stage in Second Encounter has better looking textures in the original, where the castle walls are brown, there's some blue textures and other stuff while the HD version has just very bleak grey walls. Overall the original versions are a lot more colorful.

The HD version adds a couple more secrets and in general makes it a lot easier to reach secrets, like in Level 2 of the First Encounter: In the original version it's a bit of a struggle to be able to get over the small hill to reach a hidden area, whereas in the HD version you can just walk over it.

The HD version also contains way more blood and violence, like being able to saw enemies in half.

I hope that helps :)

Yes, thank you. I hadn't considered the standard games before, now I wonder....
