tips for the Sniper Boss?
So the sniper boss... always two-shots me, gonna play Bear next time, but jesus, the wave that comes with him is MASSIVE, and 60k isn't really that much to cover it all. I guess the only way would be to drop a +40k coin buff, but for now I'm stuck, it's insane how difficult he is. Any tips?

What difficulty are you playing on?

Make sure to grab 1 or 2 health upgrades (1,000 health) if you can. (won't need them if you use the strat below but it's just for added safety)

Play as Max and have the character upgrade that lets you start with your Ult at 100% just put a couple Ice Ballistas near the Rift, wait for him around a corner, he'll come to you. Then pop your Ult and destroy him while he's frozen. He'll die super quick and won't be able to do anything.

OR

Play as Vaan and have a killbox set up that you can lure him to. When he gets close to coming through it, just pop your Rift Orb on the nearby traps, go around a corner so he can't shoot you and the traps will take most of his health away if not outright kill him.
Pop your head out to stop him in the killbox if he's running through it too fast.
He takes like 3 seconds to line up his sniper shot so just go back around the corner to avoid it.

play near walls as he has like a 4 second windup before shooting you just need to hide from
Pray you get the Thread where dying doesn't take away Rift points. That's RNG but it's an option. Also, he has a delay of about 2-3 seconds before he shoots. If you break line of site, he won't shoot.

My strategy has been to ignore the boss entirely and just focus on clearing the wave. Once the wave is done, only the boss remains. Bosses are also vulnerable to status effects so things like freezing traps work wonders.

Also, there's a 2000 skull perk that does +50% dmg to bosses from War Mages. It's worth getting.

Easiest :/
See his laser? Hide behind a corner. That's all there is to it.

Edit: if corners are too far then you need a better killbox spot.

I kited him until everything else was dead, then whittled him down. Archers in sewers did alot of the work.
I have tried this boss two times. First as two players and later as four players. Both failed. In both cases I never saw the boss himself. Is it normal for his HP to be shown as 0 after his cutscene? For example 0/120000. We were too busy dealing with the very strong wave of enemies anyway and he might have caught us off-guard.

I had many threads for ceiling traps and the double barricades, so I made the maze right around the rift with 5-beam-extra-crit-lasers and added dozens of ballistas during the wave. When the wave died I just had to dodge the shots and wait. Certainly was the easiest boss level for me.
When we attempted the boss the first time as two players, we noticed multiple pedestals for the rift to stand on. We thought the rift would change location during the boss fight as an extra layer of difficulty. Because of this uncertainty we ensured all pedestals were covered. When we started the wave, we found out that the rift didn't change location, and realized the extra pedestals just meant the rift could spawn in a random location. And so we were spread too thin with the barricades to create a good killbox. We got trampled by the enemies.
It's in the second attempt as four players where we had the 0 HP boss bug. Thanks to Zouls' reply, I see that the boss wasn't even present in that attempt. It's the enemy wave that got us again, even though we made a much better killbox. Now that I have read all posts in this discussion, I will use that knowledge for future attempts.

i got pretty bombarded by trolls and ogres in that fight more so than the boss, so its definitely one where you want to be able to deal with chunky enemies, i like the rift underground cause you can just barricade so they all go up the right rightmost door when looking from the rift into the wall (cant remember, north maybe) and then make a killbox outside.

Yeah, that pretty much describes our own experience with that wave xD We will take better account for the bigger enemies.
We played this boss yesterday and instakilled him. ) I wanted to try harpoon ballistas and placed them at the basement, and looks like they dropped him into water, right after his intro scene.

It's actually a bug. If you play MP he will instantly die after his intro.
