I've hit an impassable solo wall
I spoke too soon when i said solo wasn't bad.

I'm on the sniper wolf boss guy. He's literally impossible solo.

The rift has 11 hit points and it's a standard rift, not a shield one. The boss 1 shots you if he snipes you. He has 70k health.

How can you possibly fight off a boss with 70k health AND stop a continuous wave of enemies without letting 11 through?

It's impossible. I tried building a maze for the mobs and attacking him only - didn't work.

Tried fighting the mobs and taking random shots at him - 70k is too much, it'd take literal hours, if not days, to do.

Tried luring him into traps - he 1 shots you and your rift dies.

How the hell are you expected to do this solo?

He was insane and took some thread luck to deal with. I had double barricade which practically breaks the game, so non-flyers were never getting in to begin with, and I had enough rift points to ignore the flyers.

As for the boss there is a lag time on his shot, so when he starts aiming quickly break line of sight so he can't hit you. Depending where rift randomed that is easier said then done. If it is offered be sure to grab the +1k hp health upgrades to avoid one shots. As to dealing with his health bar, I'm not sure if they intended you to get the 2k skull upgrade for +50% damage against boss before or after him (I got it after). I was using Max though and his ultimate's damage is just so silly it didn't matter.

Some advice I can give here for this is focus the specific war mage upgrades in the skill tree - they're extremely powerful. Buy your sentinels! they're overpowered. Bosses can be CC'd like any other unit...freeze him, stun him, slow him, he's screwed!!!

The bit about Skill trees really isn't true all the time. Max's last skill in his tree gives a 50% chance to not lose rift points when he dies (this should really be in non character specific tree). A bunch of his other skills require use of his blade staff, which you can use maybe twice per match? The Blunderbuss character seemingly only increases her pet damage? These character skill trees could probably use another look!

This! 'Sniper' units in (almost) any game can be trivialized if you just don't allow them a clear shot at you. Doing that while managing everything else going on though... Well, maybe not so simple~

I'm glad that bosses aren't immune to things like that by the way - sooo many games straight up make bosses immune to statuses so things like Stop/Immobilize/Confusion/Knockback are totally worthless. You can clown on a boss here once you know how (Admission time: I've only done so exactly once.)

I just did him and maybe i was lucky because the rift spawned underground and due to the obscene amount of barricades we have now i could make the entire map run a huge way around to get down, i kinda messed up by not having enough high damage and burning to deal with trolls so i lost quite a few hp.

But the boss itself is probably the easiest i have fought of all of them, he aims at you and just stands still for like 4 whole seconds, of which you can break LOS, i also played mac to counter snipe but most of the time i just shot him, waited for him to aim and then went behind a wall.
The sentinels make a huge difference on almost all the maps.

Also its reeeealllly easy to dodge his shot. He telegraphs it ridiculously and you just make sure you aren't in the way. Don't know how to help with that part other than keep your eyes out for the animation.

took a video in case you want an example, although i also got hit by a bad shot https://gyazo.com/8e114bd1cd4a4453d1e4dcba94ea7d4d again it wasnt good

I had a really good run going, double barricades, lost only like 5 rift points so far, honestly crushing. Then I get to the sniper boss and my rift is above the sewers. Very open space, and nowhere to put up a good anti air set up, so I would have to camp the rift to help what little I could set up. Nbd, right? Then the boss spawned, I go to fight him, And he one shots me!? Then proceeds to continuously spawn camp me at the rift. Ya i try and hide but he just cases me around the rift. Meanwhile I'm loosing a ton of rift points to flyers. He take me from 37 rift points to 0 in less then 5 mins. The lack of warning and huge power spike was not expected at all. That was by far my best run yet, after 4-5 hours of playing. Idk, I think it's kinda ridiculous I would have to specifically spec into health to beat a boss when nothing so far in the game has done basically any damage to me. Expexaly on how quickly the skill tree scales up on price. Played as Maximilian on Xbox series x

Or run away in the 4 seconds he is sniping at you obviously and use cover

Ya while I'm hiding i can't control the flyers and help cc the mobs, then I loose. He isn't hard to dodge but to split focus that much is a huge step up in difficulty that seems to come out of nowhere. Plus the fact he both goes over and shoots over barricades makes hiding much more annoying. I can't shoot at the enemy and run away from him at the same time, expexaly with how many mobs spawn at once. As a solo player this isn't fun.

Did all 4 for bosses now and the tactic is always the same for the boss map:
- build 1 killbox, often enough possible
- there are only 150-180 enemies in the boss map, after that nothing else will spawn
- don't attack the bosses but run away from them and after the normal enemies stop spawning lure them into the killbox
- have some freeze / stun traps in your killbox, the icelance was very nice for that, normally i spam the whole ceilings with 20+ with them

Bosses:
- Healer Boss: not sure if that guy was randomly teleporting in my killbox or he followed me, either way first boss and too easy
- Sniper boss: like others said he will aim at you, you just need to get around a cover, i had 3 rift pts left and zero heals when kiting him through the killbox
- Summoner: after a while he doesnt spawn enemies anymore and just hunts you, lure into killbox
- Gladiatior: very annoying, constantly run away from him and again, after everything else died lure him into the killbox, 3-4 tours and he was dead (i used Max to double jump up to the archers so i could fle from him fast)
