First time? Unlocking Traps
What was you first trap purchase/upgrade stats and why?

And if it wasn't the tar-trap what the hell were you thinking.

Also I am a little annoyed that they have spliced the trap stat upgrades into 3 to increase the grind, but whatever I guess
I'll likely be called crazy for mine. I went w/ Tar trap for the obvious slow effect (scrap flip trap). Briar to replace Brimstone as trash killer even though there is nothing wrong w/ Brimstone. Wallblades to replace Arrow Wall trading off the great range for higher damage output against big units.

for what its worth im happy they just nerfed the cost to half, but the trap shares the cost across all stats, so it means you can max out 1 stat super easily instead of needing to put 1 point in all 3 at the same time and the cost.

but yeah the cost of 2700 before was silly

briar is stronk tbh, but it seems to me that the trolls regen are completely busted if you dont have fire traps, but i dont know if there is any other way to stop it, so i use a mix of brimstone, tar, blank, briar, blank, repeat to let the briar fill out the 3x3 square.

I tend to use mine carts with the threads that affect trolls to deal with them. Combined with ice lances and ballistas to dps them to heaven.

First trap for me was probably molten gold simply for the coin generation you get with that. More coin = more traps = more damage after all. Ice lance I would recommend as well. I am not a fan of the fire traps myself and for poison trap I just don't have space.

Briar + flower are also good if you get the healing thread for higher missions when you need healing.

I did take Tar Trap, but also Swinging Mace. Swinging Mace has been my favorite since the first game, Tar Trap is the best in the game, no doubt, but Mace is still my favorite. Any time you can actually maze a little, Swinging Mace wrecks.

No doubt. I have nostalgia bias too tbh haha. I do like the look of some of the new ones though

Yeah, there's some really good new ones. Bramble, and the Cursed Floor or whatever it's called are both great, and the Molten Gold ceiling traps are basically never going to leave my toolbelt unless the map has no ceilings or something.
