Keep playing and you can get more. Played 5 hours so far and I have been able to bring enemies into Choke points in every round. Most the time into one spot, only one round have I had them coming in 2 directions, because it was a bigger map (There was like 4 areas they could come from I stopped 2 of them).
Keep playing, you unluck so many more things the more you play, that first round you really don't get a good sense of how the game is.
I have played only Solo so far and beat all 6 rounds I have done on my own. Solo is more than fine in this game, just play a little more.
Adding 4 more barricades does NOT fix the issue my man. I understand how the skill tree works and that I can increase limit through that AND the Thread system, but the problem of still being severely short-changed the barricades needed to create these kill box setups, dependent on the map, is sometimes entirely not possible. Some maps feel like we need 2x the amount of Barricades the game limits us to.
Thank you for trying to help tho
What I am saying is that during rounds you get choices of what bonuses to get, I got 2 that said +2 to barricades. During this 7th round of mine in solo (as well as the 6th round which I got 18 Barricades), I have 20 Barricades instead of 16, with not upgrading anything to do with Barricades in the Skill Tree yet.
As I said in my previous post, play more and you will see a lot more options for Barricades as you play.
I am on my 7th round solo and not died yet, keep playing and you will have many more options.
You can get more Barricades in 2 different ways... yes in Skill Tree but also during the rounds choices for bonuses you can get more.
so far i have yet to see a map that truly requires +2 players the best guess is the pirate sand one leading into the temple but even with the base 16 i can see how i will path all the lanes together.
every single map i have seen so far with the exception of a single spawn on the dry docs map where it was 1 path and a tiny 2 path that i should have blocked i have been able to block everything down to a single path.
ok and then just have infinite damage traps and an "i win button" at the start of the game?
But also Ive read feedback from other omd veterans saying different
I wrote it in another post but you can basically solo lane every map but you need to sacrifice maximizing space in the big maps.
Eg 1 has a huge maze outside but it makes zero sense to use any barricades outside since they both converge into the house. So its a really weird case of having to entirely ignore the biggest part of the map outside of a few traps to lower the health.
Also the maps has things like some side areas only gets mobs 30% of the wave and only small kobolds but it never really tells you. So you need to keep looking out if you want to use staggered releases
Though my personal Play style is to have as few cd dependent traps as possible
Do you have cades left to make an interesting killbox though? Or is it just, funnel everyone into one lane?
You generally don't want to funnel everyone into one lane if you can help it. Due to the long reload timers on traps, compared to how most tower defense games work, you want to stagger your defenses a bit early on. Shoving everything into a single killbox can work if you have the perfect layout, but often you're better off spreading damage out and around more of the map.
