I couldn't figure out what it was doing either because there's no in-game codex. I also can't figure out if the buff is AoE and/or applied and doesn't go away? When the orcs are moving, it seems to be AoE but occasionally he stops for a few seconds and plays all his instruments. I can't tell if that's applying a buff or just a fun animation.
"You’ll hear the Drummer Orc’s banger beats from miles away, and when you do, you’ll want to find him quickly. His inspiring music pumps up the enemies around him – speeding them up and giving them a damage boost." I assume the speed boost is perma AOE and when he stops to play all instruments he's buffing damage.
Check this out for a explanation on ALL enemies.

It's quite obvious that they were really trying to disable most killbox options... with random decorations blocking what would otherwise be great killbox hallways. I don't get it... you take the one thing that people loved the most about OMD, and design the next game to limit that as much as possible.
This folks, is what you call a "straw man" argument.
So, I actually just read this article and what are you on about?
That’s not what it says at all.
“And finally, without having to worry about the precision of the trap grid and enemy paths, it gave the artists a lot of freedom to create a really beautiful environment without us designers interfering. We definitely want to keep expanding what players can do and find in the Order Fortress as we continue creating content for OMD!D”
This is referring specifically to the hub area.
I suggest you look up the definition of the words you use, and take a course on logical fallacies.
It's not so much that they've downplayed killboxes, it's just the maps are much larger and varied (to accommodate 4 players) so players have to be able to ascertain WHERE the killboxes need to go, or that maybe you need to elongate the box and spread it around.
It's why the barricade limit feels bad; it's hard to just make a killbox which is probably the main draw of OMD for most players. I've got mixed feelings on it personally, but I appreciate it's a nightmare to balance and the game is still good regardless. :p
