Don't Understand Controls

I can't figure out how to look at the notes with the code pieces on them. I picked them up and they're in my inventory but I can't see them or click on them. Not in my inventory or the item combination page... so I'm kind of stuck in the first room 'cause I don't know how to use the controls... Please help....

good day. why obs doesn't capture your game? (window)

??? how should i stream it? if the game is not captured? and most likely steam will not record its gameplay either. showing everything from the desktop is not very convenient

Bug after casino?

I just left the casino and instead of getting the "completed" book with the score breakdown, I get a black screen with the timer still running and Watson asking me not to leave him alone. There's nothing to click, and if the timer runs out I get the "game over" screen. Is this intended, or is it a bug? I can't quit and reload, because the game autosaved coming into this screen...
