by the way, I found only one weapon at the very beginning of the game, lying on the ground. And from the armor, these were parts of a fisherman's kit and a glider)) . The development is quite smooth, especially if you play for the first time and do not know that in some places you can immediately buy ready-made weapons of the last level of the workbench for gold, not that expensive.
FriendlyGhost has already covered most of what I had in mind, so I’ll keep this brief. It’s a survival game, much like other games in the genre, featuring the core elements you'd expect: an in-depth skill system, extensive exploration, challenges, secrets, boss fights, and more. One standout aspect is the biome-specific resources—if you’re looking for something like “diamonds” (no spoilers here), you’ll need to explore specific locations to find them.
The rest is fairly straightforward. On another note, the developers are highly communicative and active, with a YouTube channel full of useful updates and insights. It’s definitely worth checking out. That said, the multiplayer mode may have some issues for certain players, but the team is actively working on resolving them.
so you can bypass progression entirely with a sort of trader thats hidden somewhere if i understood you correctly. that does not sound good design for such a game to me.
the rest sounds atleast better than most of these types of games. and the game atleast seems to have base defense systems and doesnt seem overly easy by default like way too many of these types of games.
i am a huge fan of valheim and 7 days to die for some of these elements (both have thier pros and cons) and i am farily experienced with survival games so i enjoy complexity in the details in them.
By the way, another interesting mechanic of the game, when you create a weapon or armor, they have a quality, bad, good, excellent, it's completely random! So if you didn't get an excellent weapon, you disassemble it and from the same resources you make the same weapon again and so on until an excellent one drops, why do we need a bad weapon..... You don't even need to reload )))
the result beeing rng aswell is hugely questionable. and currently on top POINTLESS if you can just endlessly retry again.
but this sounds like exp from crafting things needs to be removed entirely asap.
202 levels is quiete alot tough. seems they plan on makeing this game huge down the road if they can stay active and alive.
will wait longer before i buy it after these informations. when a system is THIS simple to break it needs alot of work and balance changes before new content is added.
will keep an eye on it tough. thanks for the headsup everyone.
My friend and I play IfSunSets without buying from the vendors and without breaking items down to recraft. If we get don't get a good crafting crit, who cares. It is a survival game and we choose to survive rather then level chase. Played in this way our progression is slow, the game is immersive, interesting and beautiful, the game challenges us and there is a lot of content in the game.
It is a single player or coop game, who is there to compete in levels against. Set coundaries for yourself, the game is fully customisable in difficulty, and see if you can survive, without looking for leveling loopholes. It is a choice, and not a problem in game design. We are impressed with the game design, it is so unique, it is just multiplayer (coop) that still in beta, needs to be fixed in some areas. Regardless, the Devs are doing a great job, and we are having a blast, not trying to get anywhere, simply surviving and slowly progressing.
ill thank everyone else for thier detailed information as i have already made up my mind and will give the game time to ripen first before trying it out. will see how it is in 6 months from now. thread can be closed.
