What happened to the other human leader?

I seem to remember back when the game was first revealed, the leader of Earth was some woman and some art for her was shown, and later DL Whatsit was revealed as the leader of some other fleet coming in to save the day. I had assumed at the time that DL would be a story character, the leader you played in the campaign, and the woman who was the real leader of Earth was going to be the leader in the normal game. I can't find the art I'm thinking of, or the dev journal about it (I'm assuming it was a dev journal but it may have been before the GC3 page event went up). I don't have the best memory these days, so it's entirely possible I made the entire thing up in my head and at some point become convinced it was a thing.

Also, StartGameTerran.png is a dog...

I recall reading something along those lines as well. I heard that there was a male/female version of each speciess leader (if applicable, Yor probably don't have gender).

I can't find the art, maybe it didn't exist, or maybe it's hidden in the founder's vault now or something. I did find this:

Which basically says Jena Casey is still the leader of Earth. The patriots and mutineers thing also made me think there would be two human factions, I forgot about that. I guess I just assumed Jena would be the patriots and DL would be the mutineers.

So basically, where's Jena?

GC2: DL.... DL Bradley escaped to the pocket unviverse of the precursors.

GC2: TOA ... Jenna brought back the precursor artifact that allowed Earth to shield planet from Drengin invasion.

Fast forward, GC3... DL Bradley spends ten years in the pocket universe and remerges with a entirely new Fleet. Jenna is on Earth rebuilding Earth's Fleet.....

Casey (weirdly a colonel in an otherwise naval ranking system) can't the leader of Earth (storywise, sandbox is another matter) given she is trapped outside, but of the remains of the Terran Alliance beyond an isolated Earth. I can't remember what happened to him but the other Bradley might still be president and trapped on Earth.

Ten years is a long time to fight an essentially lost war and for Casey to survive would be quite miraculous. I wouldn't be surprised if she is dead and Marcus' forces in the tutorial are really the last "free" Terrans in the galaxy at the time they headed into the black.

That said, the devs have said they want to add Casey to the game so hopefully we'll get answers ot what happened to her in the ten years that is missing...maybe through a prequel campaign.

Oh, she's outside. I guess I misread that. Though that story is "current" so she is alive and still fighting.

My gut tells me she and the entire patriots/mutineers thing is going to be expansion content, or DLC.

I thought she was on Earth, behind the bubble. It sounds like she is outside the bubble protecting other human colonies though.

It's hard to follow the story since it doesn't make any sense in regards to the main (sandbox) game, and I have zero interest in the campaign.

Casey was in charge of the Terran forces in Twilight of the Arnor, which is set after Earth gets sealed. So the main point of that was not to seal Earth, but to finally defeat the Dread Lords, which required the building of a weapon to blow up an extire star system: the Terror Star.

Can't remember if that actually required a Percurer artifact or if it they were just handed the design by the last Arnor.

Its been a long time, but I was bored right before GCIII launch and decided to relive GCII and TOA campaigns one last time...... Here goes my take on the human faction/leader....

DL Bradley was in charge of the 1st fleet during the GCII DL campaign. At the end of GCII he found a precursor artifact that opened up the pocket universe and put earth on a precusor slave shield (really they actually said the shield was meant to be a slave shield). At the very end of the campaign DL Bradley stated the first fleet will remain in the pocket universe to study the 'wonders' of the precursor and will return to known space when they are ready... God talk about a cliff hangar....

TOA we got Jeanna Casey (task force Odyssey?) coming back from a deep space mission and realized the galaxy is now trashed. They somehow manage to find an Arnor and with the Arno's help blew up a solar system (with the Dread lords inside) using a death sta... uh... I mean Terror Star.

The pre-story of GCIII stated Jeanna Casey met up with what's left of the second fleet and they tried to take the fight back to the Dregin. But Thalan blew up their Terror Star (through an exhaust port?) and also destroyed the plan to build more. So they spent the next 10 years running from the 'evil' empire while trying to save human colonies. There was some backstory about Patriorts and mutineers but I guess this part never made it into the initial release of GCIII.

GCIII campaign (for now) focuses on the return of DL Bradley 10 years later and the liberation of Earth... so the current President of Earth and Jeanna Casey are both MIA for now.... Well... We did end up getting Marcus as a new character... Make more sense if that's Jeanna Casey instead... but oh well.......
