Why won't my Workshop subscriptions show up in game?
Not my first GC game, but it is the first time I've tried to link it to Steam workshop mods. I played Civ5 and Skyrim just fine and the subscribed mods always showed up right away. But not GC3. Am I missing a step?

yeah you`ll need to close the game start it back up and start a new map!
under options, in the game play catogory make sure you have mods enabled. also in the designer make sure you have the show all parts enabled.

I've tried all of this. I've verified game cache. I've enabled mods. I've quit/restarted several times. But none of my subscriptions show up. I read the troubleshooting guide, which is fairly worthless, so my only recourse now is to submit a ticket.

I am not sure if your aware of this but it may just be ships your downloading are faction specific, basically means you might also need the faction they were created for.

Is The show all ships enable in options ???
Also looking under bew ships and downloaded ??

I should have been more clear. I didn't subscribe to any ship mods. I only subscribed to a few race (faction) mods. I re-read their descriptions and even unsubscribed/resubscribed but no luck. I don't have any of the mod files in my "My Games\Galactic Civ III" folder. They're just not downloading.

At this point before you submit a ticket contact the authors of the factions you downloaded. The issue just might be on the authors end. See if the author can help you fix it or email you the faction files. If this doesn't resolve then issue go ahead and submit a support ticket.

Thanks, Airmaster, but wouldn't you think if I'm having the same problem with 7 different mods from7 different authors that the problem might be on Steam's end? I'll reach out nonetheless.

Update: I've submitted a ticket to Stardock, though I'm dubious that they'll fix what to me appears to be a Steam problem. Also, their Stardock SupportTool made my anti-virus go nuts to the point that I stopped trying to run the tool and deleted it. I got no warnings just running the game (BitDefender is very game-friendly otherwise).

There was a Steam client update the other day that fixed some Workshop items not being downloaded. I'm not sure if it's related, but that may have been it. I would exit Steam and load it back up.

Thanks, The_Gear, but after doing that there's no change. Still waiting to hear from Stardock.

Uncheck the Enable Mods option.

When you go to start a new game, do any of those races show up? Any at all from the workshop?
