Maybe you never heard of it for GalCiv2:

best mod I ever played for any game. Would be super nice if it was avaialble for Galciv3.

I heared of it, mixing Sci-Fi like that is just wrong. But each to their own.

I like having Klingons or Romulan factions with their unique ships in a game with an Empire and Rebel faction and ships. Mix and match ... I replace the Yor with the Geth from Mass Effect. It may not be lore friendly but it looks really cool watching all the ships ...

It's mostly the lore and theme music that got to me and really gave the game a huge amount of immersion, especially the first few times playing that mod. It transformed the whole GalCiv experience into something strangely familiar and with unexpected combinations. Like hearing that the klingons had formed an alliance with the empire -- or some such nonsense. I think there was a Star Wars race from the books that is featured in the mod where all their armor is alive and they use biological warfare. Seeing that level of detail just raised my engagement in the mod and I was thoroughly impressed.

I guess if you're a Star Trek or a Star Wars purist it won't be very appealing, but if you have a sense of humor it can be quite entertaining. I got the sense "this is what Galciv was MADE FOR but couldn't be done without modding!"
